IUB, if I could, I would rep you; but like just about everyone else, I have to spread the rep giving around.

Someone give reps to this man!

Buck, you are not serious right? I said even if there was a violation, nothing would happen, so why are you trying to defend it. Ah, what the hell, it isn't every day that I get to give a Buckeye fan a lesson on their own campus. so here goes.

Eddie George's Grille 27, the site of the alleged recruiting violation is located at 1636 N. High Street which is on the SE corner of High and Chittenden. High Street forms the southern boundary of the OSU campus, so the SE corner of High and Chittenden is not on the OSU campus. Furthermore, if you look up the building index for the OSU campus on their website, Eddie George’s Grille 27 is not listed as a campus building. As to Notre Dame, yes there are restaurants on campus. As far as I know, all on campus restaurants are owned by the University, and none by former football players of the University of Notre Dame. Anyone correct me if I am wrong about that fact.

I know where it is, I just didn't know if it was considered on campus or not. I haven't been to it(I've been outside it and in the area around high street). I just didn't know whether it was considered "on campus".

Buck- I’m not sure why you would want to keep this alive. A minor recruiting infraction most likely occurred at Eddie George's Grille 27 on the evening of March 10, 2007. It is a minor recruiting infraction that I am sure is repeated often at Eddie George's Grille 27, somebody at OSU just neglected to tell Andrew Sweat not to talk about it. As I said, no worries though, because if the NCAA is not going to sanction USC for letting Reggie Bush live in an 800K house with no visible means of family support, they certainly wouldn’t bother even farting in the wind over the Vest Master buying dinner for recruits and having them “accidentally” run into Chris Speilman, A.J. Hawk, Bobby Carpenter & have them “accidentally” tell those recruits that they're trying to get them to go to OSU.

I wasn't trying to keep anything alive. Notre Dame fans asked questions and I gave an answer. I guess that isn't appreaciated by some, so I'll stop.

It sure would be nice to have ONE mature discussion once in a while.

But I digress...

I'll drop this thread. God forbid a few of you ever have to hear an outsider's opinion on things. Scary stuff for you, I know.

The key word in your statement is OUTSIDER. I don't mind your opinion, but what are you thinking when you go to a site named Irishenvy. Just to let you know I don't care about this topic, but you will be grilled up here sometimes for those opinions. Other than that have a nice day and keep your opinions coming.

Rumors are circulating that he may have given his verbal to O$U yesterday at their spring game along with Brewster and Shugarts.

Andrew did not commit to Ohio State yesterday and it seems the game didn't do much for him as Notre Dame and Penn State is included in a short list of his favorites right now.

Jason,
You seem to have a good rapport with Andrew Sweat. Do you sense that ND has a realistic shot with him, or do you think he is really leaning elsewhere? He had very positive comments on Power Hour about Coach Brown (like who hasn't???).

I believe we have a realistic chance. Penn State, Notre Dame, North Carolina, and two of the unholy triumvirate make up his shortened list of favorites in no particular order. He is visiting Notre Dame one more time before he makes his decision, which will be as early as May. He would be an awesome physical linebacker in Brown's scheme.

Ok, I hadn't heard anything for sure on Sweat, and Josh Jenkins but just stong speculation that they joined Brewster and Shugarts in commiting. I'll take every bit of correct positive recruiting news I can get, but I still think Andrew will be a Buckeye when it's all said and done.

Now Sweat is not entirely sure of what he's going to do or where he's going and may push back his decision date to summer. I think he should stop giving himself a deadline and take his time, it looks like he's rushing or feeling the pressure from OSU to commit or something but he obviously isn't ready to decide on one school yet which is always a good sign being an OSU heavy lean and all.

i just listened to andrew sweat on a past interview from mike franks power hour and i came away very impressed. he's just a nd guy and from the film i've seen can definately lay down the hammer. i really really want this guy. he and filer are the only elite LB we have a realistic shot at and IMO they're "must gets". Them and fleming could take our D to the next level.

check out arthur brown's film

We get him on campus and I guarantee we have a legit chance with him. As far as I know, he has set up only 3 officials, ND, USC and Fla

We have a legit chance with Brown. I'll take Brown and Filer as our 2 remaining LBs

Each coach has a region to recruit in. Haywood's region is down in the TX, LA, AR, etc. area. Players like Cyrus Gray, and so on.

I think the point was that Haywood is not bringing in as many players from his region as was expected. That's a good point, I think. If I remember correctly, he was the recruiting coordinator at Texas. Yet, we've only got Chris Stewart so far. He's done a good job in Oklahoma though, with Romine and West.

its damn near impossible to get kids out of texas that are rated highly in that state.

Seems like from the second they are born they give a verbal to texas, A&M, and/or OU

in other words, he has a very difficult region to pull kids out of, until ND starts winning the big games and competes for a national title

Maybe, but I still expected more results. And it's not just a matter of those three schools getting top players from Texas. Ok ST. has gotten them, and look at LSU. You might be right that it may be a matter of winning more, but just saying...

i know what your saying, just hard to get kids out of their homestate most of the time. When we start winning more and consistently compete for a title, then hopefully it will be easier to lure kids out of their homestates to come to ND.

Sweat who in one recent article was listed as saying he would make his decision on his Mom's birthday (May 14) is now saying that he never literally said that, and that his decision is not imminent. He is waiting at least until after the end of the visiting period (May 31) so that every coach who has expressed an interest in him has a last chance to visit him at his High School. The PSU people still seem to think it is between them, ND, and OSU for Sweat, but anything that happens here should not surprise anyone.

goshengipper, i know what he said probably does sum up OSU but lets be honest...its a 17 year old kid posting on someones myspace wall, what is he going to say? "This is Notre Dame's motto. Get an education, earn an Ivy league degree, and play football under a great head coach." I dont know how old some of you guys are, but im guessing youre out of college. But at this age even for me and my friends, thats really not that hard to picture someone saying that. and spelling really doesnt matter for the majority of 17 year old kids...when i get interviews back on emails some of them have typed a bunch of gibberish. i wont name names but there are some ND guys who do that

Well...you have to give the guy some credit... at least he has his priorities straight. If rings were last, than there would be a problem.
