Brewster seems to be favoring Flordia and Ohio State. He plans on trying to make it to the OSU-PSU game. It looks like Ohio State could be landing a monster OL class in 2008.

They'll need one. They are going light on OL this year. Ohio will have a big crop of linemen next season. There will be some good linebackers there as well.

Brewster visited Ohio State this weekend and walked away calling them his leader.

Thanks to Brewster for sending me an update. Notre Dame has started pushing their recruitment for this talented lineman. He also updated his offer list and measurables which include putting on 15 more pounds and cutting his 40 from 5.5 to 5.1.

Hopefully the Irish can make up ground by starting late on this kid. He's one of my Top 10 linemen in the 2008 class.

Brewster was listed as a Top 30 prospect in the Class of 2008 by Rivals in their recently released recruiting yearbook.

Reports say he was one of the best, if not the best OL at the AAA combine, and he looks to be more of a Guard/Center prospect. Apparently he grew up in the Pittsburg area, and he still has family there, and unfortuantly for Irish fans he hasn't shown much interest in ND, and it looks like it'll be an O$U/Michigan battle.

Latest quotes out of Brewster says that he is still considering ND, but they are not in his Top 5. USC, Ohio State & Florida are his front runners, followed by Alabama & Oklahoma. With that unholy triumvirate as his front runners, I do not see any possibility of Brewster going Irish.

Brewster still has the unholy triumvirate as his Top 3, and may consider Alabama, Georgia, and LSU. He does not even mention ND anymore, and Rivals no longer lists ND as one of his college choices. It looks like one less offensive lineman for the coaching staff to focus on as Brewster never seemed to pay any attention to the ND offer.

Attached is a free Scout article on the status of Michael Brewster's recruiting. No significant news here for ND. Brewster's top choices are still Florida & OSU, with USC and three other schools closely behind. ND is not in his Top 6, and Brewster does not even mention ND in the article. What is interesting about this article is that it is written by the same guy who wrote the infamous "Golf Cart Tour" earlier this week. Same author, different recruit. Note however that all of Brewster's quoted comments are positive, he does not mention the schools that have offered him that he has no interest in, and he does not try to downgrade any of the schools in his Top 6 in order to justify his 2 favorites. Brewster is not going to be an ND recruit, and it's a shame that his 3 top choices are the unholy triumvirate, but you have to admire his maturity in handling this overwhelming attention, and his obvious respect for the process and the schools that have offered him this opportunity.

It's going to be scary what OSU offensive line looks like in a couple of years. If all four (including jenkins or long) sign on LOI day, they will dominate big ten play with their running game. It could be the best offensive line hall for one school in a decade.

Very true, although it now looks like Free Shoes U. is way out in front of Kyle Long now because of the baseball aspect.
