[Notre Dame Spring Football] Blue vs. Gold

I'm going to make Blue a slight favorite because they always seem to win.

Ive never been to a blue and gold game do they do it like other spring games and theres a defence the whole game and an offence the whole game or do they actually play a game

I think it's first team offense against the first team defense. but as we all know, so many positions are being fought for that the first teamers will be subbed early and often.

Blue Team = 1st team offense & 2nd team defense

Gold Team = 2nd team offense & 1st team defense

They were also so thin on OL and Ks/Ps last year that they wore green and played for both teams, but that's not a regular occurrence.

They actually play a game but sometimes they change the clock rules to speed up the game, although since there aren't any NBC TV timeouts it really speeds up play anyway. They also tend to be much more lenient with some of the penalties as well. For instance, after TT's long TD run last year he lined all of his other teamates up like they were bowling pins and rolled the ball at them to mimic a strike as a group TD celebration. Even though the refs flagged the gold team for the celebration CW when over to the ref with a smile and started to argue the call.

yes, you are looking to much into it. Nikolas Rodriguez is not ahead of Aldridge just because he is on the blue team.

Junk, I actually believe your statement. It looks like 1st team offense vs. 1st team defense. The depth chart on each team isn't accurate because they are listed numerically. But, the teams sure do look like 1 vs. 1.
