There's probably more stats than this out there but here's the rundown:

40 time:
Quinn - 4.73
Russell - 4.83

Vertical Jump:
Quinn - 36
Russell - 34.5

there's also some other stats without russells:
short shuttle for quinn was 4.22 and the three cone drill with small cones in 6.79.

So much for Russell being more mobile and agile...

He's just a big slob with a big arm, they don't throw alot of 80 yard bombs in the NFL. I'm sure he'll have the 10 to 15 seconds needed to sit back pretty in the pocket for a reciever to get that deep so he can show off the only talent "they" speak of. Im sick of these ESPN/NFL network gurus slobbin this guys nob

You're leaving out the most vital stat of all, the one where Russell throughly out-classed Quinn, and I mean total embarrassment, a complete ass-kicking...

Hate to pick, but somehow I feel the need to correct obvious mistakes...
1) These aren't combine numbers. Quinn only did the 40 and the vertical jump at Notre Dame's 2nd pro day.
2) I don't recall a single article claiming that Russell is more mobile than Quinn. People are excited by his Roethlisburger/Young type physique. He's very tall, heavy and strong. He can shrug off tackles and make zippy throws to anywhere on the field.

I think Russell is benefiting from a bit of a big quarterback fad right now. When anybody is really successful (think Javon Kearse, Randy Moss), GMs go crazy trying to find the next one.

Like everyone else, I'm praying that Russell goes to the Raiders and not Quinn, so let's not talk Quinn up too much. :)

JR IMO left to early and should have hung around for another year. It's no hard to see which QB is in the better shape to play in the NFL.

In MMQB, Peter King said not to be surprised if Quinn is still in play for Oakland, "you heard it here first."

I would seriously hope not, i know he wants to be the first taken and all, but Oakland? can it that team be any further from his personality. I think the Browns or Lions is where he should end up. In a model world i wish we could trade Eli Manning to a team for him because Eli is just terrible.

any chance oakland trades the pick? i don't want him to go to oakland, but i'd like for him to achieve his goal of being the first overall pick.

It would be great for Oakland to trade their pick with maybe Houston.

Russell is a Sniz

Russell is a Sniz

He will throw more picks in the NFL than Pac Man Jones gets gangsta. LSU didn't require too much read and recognition, in the NFL it is all about your reads and check downs.... I smell another Culpepper....maybe one or two years of wow, he has talent, and then......bam he is a sniz!
