I was wondering which protein bars people think are the best with factors being:
taste
price
effectiveness

I just went to the Arnold Classic here in Columbus and got a lot of protein bar samples. They all taste bad but the Zero Impact by VPX was the easiest to get down. It also has 30 grams of protein. The best protein supplement BY FAR is CytoSports Muscle Milk...it goes down easy, taste great, and most important to me, does not mess up your stomach. It is only $25 for 2.48 LBS on www.bodybuilding.com. If you are trying to put on muscle you have to have a protein shake!!! I have only been lifting for 3 years and I have put on 35 pounds of muscle with just protein and BSN products (No-Xplode, Nitrix, and Cellmass). I also eat 6-7 meals a day and have a washboard because everything is low fat/carbs...wow sry I could talk all day about this subject. Any other questions let me know!

"Detour." They are whey protein but taste great. Low on sugars and a good quick 250 calorie snak.

Definitely not a bodybuilding bar but really good if you need a healthy pickme up.

Agreed. I usually take Pure Protein bars. They have 20 grams in them and are really cheap like 79 cents with a drug store by my apartment. If you're a poor college student this is the way to go!

I like Promax bars. They were great for recovery after long runs when I trained for a marathon a while back. Just have to drink them with a lot of water (like any Protein bar).

At the end of the day, though, most trainers I know recommend a balanced diet over bars as meal replacements.

Gatorade or powerade or something used to make pretty decent bars, peanut butter was the best. They weren't as chewey as like the powerbars are, and actually tasted pretty good!
