The SEC usually starts Spring Ball 3 or 4 weeks ahead of ND. There's a negative (but unconfirmed) rumor spread around that the weather has something to do with it.

I'm assuming that everyone is still allowed the same number of total practices though (no matter when the team starts practice). So, I believe everything is on the level. Makes no difference to me when ND starts as long as they get as much spring preparation as everyone else does.

All Div 1 NCAA Teams have strict regulations (the same ones) to follow in Spring Ball. No Bear Bryant Texas AM Junction Boys Camps. Everybody has to go through conditioning. They start in shorts and tees and add equipment over time. The amount of time is regulates so many hours per day and per week. When they can start hitting is regulated.

Last year the ND site ran daily videos of the drills open to the public. As soon as the team ran a play, a student manager ran on the field with another ball screaming for the next play to begin. Every activity is planned to maximize use of the alloted time. No time is wasted.

We have been very warm down here this summer. We have had about three weeks of really cold weather ( really cold weather for us is a low of 20's and a high of 30's-40's). But this week the high has been about 60-70.

If anybody hears about the tickets going on sell lets make sure to tell everyone else. I always miss the ticket sale.

Tickets will probably go on sale sometime in April. They are also available at the gate the day of the game.

Is there an advantage to getting tickets in advance of game day? I thought that there wasn't any assigned seating for the Blue-Gold game, plus it doesn't even close to being a sell out. My wife, son and I are considering making the 5 1/2 hour trek up to watch it, plus tour the campus (my son has never been to the campus). I wasn't planning on getting tickets in advance though, unless it's assigned seating only. Anyone that knows the ticket/seating scheme for the Spring game, please respond. Thanks in advance!

Unless you're planning on attending the player/coach breakfast or want to sit in the pressbox/Gold seating, there is no advantage to pre-ordering your tickets. The Breakfast/VIP tix go really fast...usually within 2 two hours of original sale. In my opinion, if this is your boys first trip to The Bend, personally I think that it is awesome to just sit in the general seats as you would for a regular game. At least you can usually stretch out without some blue hairs screaming at you to sit down the way things go on game day.:jerkit: :smilewink

I dunno... there's a LOT of buzz surrounding the game this year, and there's some loose talk that it might actually sell-out.

If I do decide to go (and I'm still not sure if I want to make the trip or not), I'll sure as hell be getting my tickets in advance. I'm not spending several vacation days and driving all the way up from Florida and walking up to the ticket counter just to hear, "Sorry, we're sold out." :sour:

I about 150 miles south of you off I-59 and it has been a mild winter here. But it's still 20's and 30's with snow flurries in South Bend.

Last year was a record croud for the game and there was around 42,000 there. I've heard they're possibly expecting over 50,000 this year, and if they got that many it would come pretty close to selling out the old part of the stadium. I don't know if they will, but if it gets that full I think they should open up the new area as well to accomidate all the fans.

I know I'm getting my tickets early at Meijer.

That would make perfect sense.

I also NEVER depend on other people doing something that makes perfect sense.

Oh, trust me. I'm getting mine in advance as well. Always do. It's worth it to me to pay the $7 handling fee to have tix in hand. Especially when I'm responsible for getting about 22 tickets for the fam and friends. I'm a worry-wart about things like that and I'm only 4 hours away in Cleveland so I can imagine how you'd be even more cautious coming from FLA.
