Art says he has all the offers he wanted, and as of now it looks like it'll come down to ND and Rutgers.

My friend is around 6'8" 270 too. Surprised he hasn't been getting recruited as much, but then again he did sit out majority of the year for his back.

Got this from a Rutgers board...

"I spoke to a few 'Squan coaches last night in the bar afterwards and they said Art will take three visits (RU, UF, ND) but thinks its really down to RU and UF (Thought Weis was an A**hole) and feels RU will get him."

.....The part on their coaches thinking Weis was an asshole is probably made up because of how much hatred they have for ND over there.

If he thought Weis was an asshole, I doubt he would be considering playing for him. But, my insight could be mistaken.

You have to consider the source, (the Rutgers message board, not you IK1023) but the ultimate info might be correct. After his visit to ND for the B&G game, he was not exactly bubbling over with enthusiasm for ND. Immediately after the visit, he said Rutgers was his top choice, but recently a lot of fairly confusing statements that were attributed to him would make you believe that he is considering all three schools equally.

More importantly though, his announcement timing has changed. All along he said he would make his choice before the end of the current school year, now all of a sudden he is planning on taking Official Visits in September before deciding. I always thought that Forst was more of a longshot for the Gators than the Irish, but the change in timing of his announcement has to make you wonder. Did he try to commit to Florida, and Urban told him he had to wait, and that is why the sudden change. That could very well be the case, or he has already decided on Rutgers, just wants to get a free trip to Gainesville in the fall, and is using a potential trip to ND as leverage.

It's impossible to know for sure, but if the staff thinks he is just shining ND on, then I would expect a new offer to go out to an OL shortly, because other than Forst and Page (who is also very iffy for ND) there are no other currently offered OL's with any interest in the Irish. If no new OL offers appear in the next few weeks, you would have to surmise that the bar talk has no merit, and the ND staff still feel they have a shot at Forst.

Maybe Pocic will finally get an offer.

One other point. If Forst is serious about waiting until September or October to make his decision, I doubt if ND will hold off on offering more OL waiting for a Forst decision, unless they feel pretty good about our chances with him. Forst by all accounts, and by his own admission, was not all that impressive at the Elite College combine last week, so from a recruiting board rating standpoint he is most likely not going to be at the same level as a Brewster, Adams, or Patchan.

If he thinks CW is an a**hole then the NFL will be a huge shock, because most if not all of the coaches there are. That is just the way they are and CW learned from two huge championship(s) winning a**hole coaches.

i think that is wishful thinking on that guys part on the Rutgers part. I still think we have an outside shot at landing Forst. If we don't get him, I'll be a tad upset, but Pocic is still out there, as long as we get an offer out to him by the end of this month

Pocic wants to decide at the end of July so if we don't offer him when he comes and visits at the end of the month I think it won't look good for us there on.

Page is only 6'3.5, hes gonna be a guard. Pocic needs to be offered now, just look at his offer list.

Poster over on DD is saying a Forst commit to ND is imminent.

Take it FWIW.

The guys there never said "imminent." They "said things are looking good." Lets not overstate this thing just yet.

Welcome to the 21st cenury of recruiting. I'm not pointing any fingers here at anyone. It's jus interesting to see what posters are saying about who said what about a kid's favorite or who they are leaning towards. Some say Forst wasn't saying anything after the BG game. Some say he says he is Rutgers. Now Florida is still in the picture. Now he's favoring the Irish? I love ND recruiting and am just as obsessed with it as the next guy, but wow it can be a little nerve-wracking too

Agreed Leppy, but it's only nerve wracking if you let it be nerve wracking. Forst is a good case in point. I don't know Forst from Adam, and I doubt if anyone who posts on any ND message board knows him either. Forst, by his own comments, has thrown out a lot of confusing signals as to which direction he is heading, and for me that's the only one way to try to judge where his head is at. Unless someone has direct contact with the recruit, his coach, or his family, I usually discount any rumor that does not supply a reliable source as its' basis. Even then, how do you know the source is reliable, if you have never had contact with the poster or his source.

A comment like "I talked to a buddy who knows these things - said things are looking good for a Forst commit" is pretty meaningless unless the guy who posted it is someone you know that was correct about these things in the past, or he provides more information than just "I talked to a buddy who knows these things." Remember a guy just last week posted a virtual guarantee on the II free board that Blanton had verbally committed to CW. IMO, the post on DD is worth about as much as the post on the II free board. That is not to say that the DD guy is incorrect, but until Forst tells us where he is headed, the DD info is worth no more than the guy on the RU message board that said Forst was going to Rutgers. At this point in time, even Art Forst may not know for sure where he is heading, and until he decides and let's everyone else know, it's really kind of useless to be concerned about, but at the same time providing new info only adds to trying to solve a puzzle, which is basically what following the recruiting game is akin to.

This from Mr. "Will Hill's cousin's dog told my uncle's cousin's mother's best friend's grandson's girlfriend's Spanish teacher that he's all Irish"?

J/k Leppy ... you know I'm happy to have you on the board. And you're absolutely right about the craziness.

There seems to be a fairly convincing consensus going around that Forst's visit to ND this weekend is a make or break it type visit. One rumor that makes some sense is that the ND staff has told Forst that if he wants to go to ND, he had better decide soon, because new offers are pending as of June 1. If this has any merit, it is most likely the reason that Forst has decided to take a second visit to ND so soon after the B&G game even though he was not particularly enthusiastic about ND after the first visit. If Forst does not commit this weekend or shortly thereafter, look for new OL offer or offers to go out, and also look for Forst to commit to Rutgers sometime in June.

IUB, who do u think the next OL offers will go to? I know Pocic is probably pretty high on the list. Also, not sure if you read it or not, but Nick said that Pocic's deadline was actually Sunday, not Friday so by then we should know whether or not Forst will be seriously considering the Irish.
