Brady announced this today on Rome is burning.

Brady Quinn Teams Up With Xbox 360 to 'Kick Off' His Pro Career

REDMOND, Wash., Feb. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Microsoft Corp. today announced that former University of Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn has teamed up with Xbox 360(TM) to give fans an inside look at the fast track to the pros. The Xbox(R) team will chronicle Quinn's weekly routine for fans, which will include his favorite video games, workouts and training sessions leading up to the 2007 draft on April 28. Quinn will share with fans his quest to become a pro through a weekly blog every Friday, beginning Feb. 9, only on Xbox.com. In addition, exclusive high-definition videos of select pre-draft workouts and training sessions along with footage of Quinn's everyday activities and appearances will be available for download on Xbox Live(R) Marketplace throughout March and April.

"Our gamers love football, and football players love to game," said Mike Fischer, director of U.S. Marketing for Xbox at Microsoft. "Brady Quinn exemplifies what we were looking for in an athlete: He's focused and driven, and generates a lot of excitement when he's on the field. I'm looking forward to giving football fans a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to make it in the pros."

"I'm humbled by the opportunity to give fans a rare look at the physical and mental preparation it takes to make it in the pros," Quinn said. "I'm excited to connect with people through Xbox as well as look forward to learning more about the video game community. I can't wait for the opportunity to kick back with the Xbox 360 community, chat about my experience and unwind with them over a few games on Xbox Live."

Quinn, the Maxwell Award winner for college football's top player in 2006, was also a finalist for this past season's Heisman Trophy. The former Fighting Irish player was named the Cingular All-America Player of the Year during his senior campaign and garnered the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award as the nation's top quarterback. Quinn also received other All-American awards and finished his career at Notre Dame owning more than 30 school records.

According to the August 2006 Universal McCann Daily Activities Survey, nearly 50 percent of gamers (45 percent, males 18-34) actively participate in sports at least once a month compared with only one-third of non-gamers (males 18-34). Due to gamers' passion for athletics, sports titles represent nearly 30 percent of all Xbox 360 games sold.

The Gaming Life:
Brady Quinn

Hey, everyone. Welcome to my first weekly blog. The NFL Draft is a few months away, and I'm working around-the-clock to prepare mentally and physically for the pros.

I'm excited to share my experiences both on and off the field with the Xbox® community. While I'm still a pretty average gamer, I can't get over the graphics of some of today's games. Back in the day, I mostly played Tecmo Bowl on my Nintendo, and I was heavily into Goldeneye on my N64.

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend my first Super Bowl. It was crazy! I flew in on a redeye from Arizona, got in a quick workout and set off for my first media day as a professional athlete. We started in the early afternoon with a few interviews from the media center, which is home to every major sports radio outlet.

Then I appeared on ESPN and on The Best Damn Sports Show Period, where I did an interview in front of about 200 people hanging out poolside. It was a funny segment. Drew Brees, Donovan McNabb, John Elway, and I had a competition on who could complete the most passes to models that were jumping in the pool. I finished a close second to Elway.

I really enjoyed going on The Dan Patrick Show where I was able to share the stage with Joe Montana, one of my biggest heroes. The crowd went nuts when they saw him. Just like he was on the playing field, Joe was cool, calm, and collected in front of the crowd.

It's 9:00 P.M. in Arizona now. I just finished a long day of working out in preparation for the NFL Combine. Every morning around 7:30 A.M. I start training at Athletes Performance Institute, one of the top training facilities in the country. There are great people here. They've got me learning from the top coaches.

In a of couple weeks, I'll head to Indianapolis for the Combine. In the meantime, if I have some downtime from training, I'll try to sharpen my virtual football skills over Madden NFL 07 on my Xbox 360™, to help prep for my Xbox Live® Game with Fame session in New York, the night before the NFL Draft.

Check back next week, and I'll go deeper into what each of my workouts are like and my thoughts about the Combine.

Brady Quinn, February 14

It's Valentine's Day, and I barely even remember it. The only date in my head right now is February 22—the day I head to Indiana for the Combine.

I'm exhausted.

It's 8 P.M. in Arizona right now, and I just finished my daily workout and grabbed a bite to eat. We normally start workouts at 7:30 A.M. and we go until at least 6 P.M. It's a grinding day, but the trainers here are great. They push me to my limits to make sure I'm in the best shape that I can be when I arrive in Indy next week.

One of the biggest surprises in being here is how they train me. They approach workouts with a philosophy that our bodies are divided into three unique sections: Lower, upper, and core. We have a lot of focus on strength and endurance. For inspiration, I've tapped into some of my old tunes to keep me pumped … classic rock, alternative, any kind of high-energy music. There's nothing like a good tune to get you through that last set.

Today we did a little bit of everything—shuttle runs, three cone drills, the usual. We've been working on our 40-yard stance so I get in the best position to transfer my energy to my lower section and explode off the line. I've also tried to get in a lot of throwing as part of my daily routine.

There's a group of about 21 football players here at API that I've been working out with. My focus here is on getting as physically and mentally prepared as I can be for everything coming up in the next few months.

After the Combine, there's no training break: I have a "Pro Day" on March 4. After that, teams that are interested in me can come down and work out with me individually.

We work out six days a week. On Sundays, I try and take a little break. This past Sunday, I actually got to play some golf with my boxing coach, who's out here with me, even though the weather wasn't great. It felt good, though, as it took my mind off things for a little while.

Alright … I know it's early, but it's almost time to crash and do it all over again tomorrow. My days are so busy that I haven't had too much time to get on my Xbox 360™. I can tell my times to prep for my gaming sessions on Xbox Live® are going to be few and far between.

Check back next week. I'll let you know how things are going right before I head to Indy.

Wish me luck.

I hope he blows 'em away at the combine but somehow doesn't end up a Raider. I'll be a fan of his no matter what from now on.
