With all the other coaches getting their last thoughts put in these players heads. Do you think Weis has been doing any of this? Any reports or rumors saying that he has been visiting other committed recruits?

It just seems like the other school have a leg up on us in recruiting the D players and stealing players from us this late in the game.

I'm quite sure that CW knows he has to do everything he can to keep and get new recruits . I think switching to CB this late in the season he was trying to solve a problem in the D. Have faith in Charlie he has turned around recruiting at ND. He has concentrated on O this year and last but it is much better than TY ever did. Recruiting takes time and we must let CW build a rep before we call him out.

He's done about as well in recruiting as he can, the defense has been shaky which is what keeps alot of the big names away. Once Brown gets the D going and turns it around, the players will come.

If you build it, they will come.

One thing for sure, CW was not visiting any committed recruits yesterday, he was at the ND/Villanova game. He did have a bunch of Junior recruits on campus yesterday, so ND is where he should have been anyway. In any case, I do not think that CW would be making a show of publicly visiting committed recruits, as our friend Urban loves to do.

Agreed. Once the defense doesnt have the blowout games, we are more likely to attract even more talent.

It pains me to say it, but the SEC has earned the rep. of being a launching pad to the NFL for D-linemen. Once ND starts exhibiting those types of DTs & DEs that can aggressively get in the QB's grill & move quickly both laterally & north/south (that goes for LBs, too), then the pipeline will be primed. Hopefully, a 3-4 w/ quality LBs, will take a little pressure off of the front 3, so that they'll be more apt to get the pressure needed to disrupt the QB.

CW has done a great job this past two years. Nobody is complaining about the offensive side of the ball at all! Which is probably a first I'm guessing. Don't forget, we have gotten some very good cornerbacks lately (thank God!) which has hurt us badly in the past. It's not just about recruiting anyway. Bob Huggins at Cincinnati could turn a mediocre player who nobody wanted into very good players. Give the coaches time to develop and teach.

Does anyone have any info on this Ricky Booker kid?

He is a nice sized LB....something like 6'3 and 250ish with 4.8 speed and he lists us with Pitt and Alabama as his only three. Is it grades?? Did he run afoul with the law?? Seems like a good athlete and one that would fit into our 3-4 scheme.

Anyone with some info- please let me know.

Also, hearing that Lemmins kid (DE) from Clausens school may be having second thoughts with the Trattou change...any word on that from you awesome ND fans.

GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many hearts and ONE Beat!!!!

I heaven't seen too much about Booker. The information on Scout - saying we offered him - is incorrect.

It says we have not offered him. Says Alabama and Pitt have but we have not.

Seems like a good fit for 3-4-- just wondering what has happened for him not to be offered.

There are a lot of good LBs available for next year. I wouldn't dip down too far (especially now that Smith is on board).

The guy that I would like to see ND steal is Michael Reardon (who is committed to USC). I believe that he was recruited by Kiffin (who left to go the Raiders), and could be really nice as a DE in a 3-4. JMO.

Another possibility is Jerry Howard, a DE who is committed to the Gators, but is looking around because Meyer is still recruiting DL. However, I get the impression that Howard is not an ND type guy, and I doubt if CW would waste his time trying to go after him, even though it would be sweet revenge, it does not seem to be CW's style.

What exactly is an "ND type guy"?

It was a rhetorical question. I see why people hate ND fans.

Yes I knew it was a rhetorical question, that is why I did not answer you, and yes I know you posted the rhetorical question looking to create a disturbance. So here you go. If "people" hate ND fans because ND sets higher standards for our student athletes, then so be it. If you want to commiserate with them in their hate, have a good time. Having fun yet? LOL
