Just a quick note: GO SEE THIS MOVIE.

They don't make them like this anymore.

Joker Jack, Leo, Matt Damon, Marky Mark, Alec Baldwin and Martin Sheen all bring their "A Games" to this one.

DiCaprio, Damon and Wahlberg have all matured as actors. All three are very good. I'm not a DiCaprio fan, but he's been very good in the last handful of movies he's made. He'll always have Titanic strapped around his neck, but he's very good. Damon is superior to Affleck in every way. Wahlberg is becomig a great actor (Go see Invincible too if you can. He plays Vince Papale very well)

Yes, it is 2 and 1/2 hours but you'd never know it. Keeps your interest and you don't even know how long you're there.

4 Stars on this one!!

I hope to see this movie tonight or tomorrow--thanks for verifying it was as good as it looked in the previews.

You guys weren't kidding, I went to see this movie last night and was blown away by how good it was. Fantastic story, fantastic acting, fantastic everything, worth every penny I paid to see it.

Theatre was packed and everyone actually clapped at the end, been awhile since I've witnessed that at the movies.

By the way it was highest opening weekend gross for a Scorcese film ever. If he doesn't finally win an academy award for this, than theres no hope in him ever winning one.

Lots of star power in this one.

Damon, DiCaprio and Wahlberg could easily get nominated for individual awards.

Best Picture and Best Director nominations are a given.

Since the resinking of the Titanic my wife stil refers to him as DiCrapio. I'll have to avoid mentioning his participation.

Caught the late show last night.
Good flick.
Absolutely hate Matt Damon, but he wasn't bad.
Jack was great. Baldwin's character was a hoot if your familiar with Boston.
Aside: I lived in the North End (Little Italy) for 8 years during the 80's.
Five minute walk from the Boston Gaaaden where I would go and buy an "obstructed view" ticket for $7 to watch Larry, Kevin, Chief, D.J., M.L., K.C. and the boys spank the rest of the NBA before tangling with the Lakers year after year. Best years of the NBA !! But I digress.
Definitely a Scorcese flick.
Check out another great movie starring the actor who played Frenchy called "Sexy Beast". That's a good flick too.

You know, he really got saddled by that damn movie. In a bad way.

I think the kid is a good actor.

Gangs of New York, Catch Me If You Can and The Aviator were all great films. And Leo was excellent in all of them.

Matt Damon is just superior to Ben Affleck and was the brains of that Good Will Hunting duo.

Agreed, I like Dicaprio. Hey, he's Italian. He can't be all bad.
One of the better young actors in Hollywierd.
Damon blows, so does Johnny Damon BTW, (Looks like Jesus, acts like Judas, throws like Mary.)
Don't even get me started on Affleck. Sounds like what I spit in the sink every morning !

I like Matt Damon.

The Bourne Series is awesome.

I did enjoy Baldwin's character in The Departed.

The Bourne Series is awesome.
Yeah, I'll give you that. Those were good flicks.
Maybe that's the character I like best out of him.
The one where he doesn't know who he is or how he got where he is.
I like that about him. Grin

That CIA movie with DeNiro looks really good. Damon is in that one and he has Bourne Ultimatum coming out as well.

Meanwhile, Affleck is set to play the 'deer' in Good Will Hunted....and Shot !
And this guy is a Red Sox fan too.
In fact, he pulled at Steve Bartman this year in the first row at Fenway, right next to the Red Sox dugout.
Took a ball right away from Kevin Youkilis that cost us the game. Putz !

I went to see this last night at about 10:30 with some friends, came back at about 2:15, then went to school, lol.

Excellent film, possibly Scorsese's best. (and yes, I did just suggest it's better than "The Goodfellas", which has the advantage of being older and more "established" as a classic)

Sidenot: that actress was hot.

And also, while I'm at it.... our Italian members will be pissed about this, but I couldn't help being proud as hell to be Irish when Leonardo DiCaprio's character kicked both Italian guys' asses---you know, the ones that were trying to force the store-owner to buy protection from them while bashing the Irish mafia. The man in my sig agrees.

Also, Mark Wahlberg's character was bad-ass.

I liked Gangs of New York, it was Scorcese's dream movie and I thought he did a good job with it considering it was a hard part of history to depict in a movie. I mostly enjoyed the film because I loved the book, and I could see where Scorese was going with the film. Unfortunately the reviews were mixed for the film, and Chicago won all the awards, and praise(I hate musicals). I actually didn't like Leo in that film, didn't find him to be very believable(though i do think he's a solid actor). Daniel Day Lewis was amazing as Bill the Butcher, it was a joke that he didn't win best actor for that movie(he was considered the favorite, but supposedly the voters were blacklisting Gangs of New York because of Miramax's antics)

Leo was very good in some earlier films like Baskeball Diaries, and Whats Eating Gilbert Grape. Ben Affleck is a joke of an actor IMO, he's gotten very far riding Damon's coattails.

Mark Wahlberg has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

He stole every single scene that he was in with The Departed, which could win Best Picture and Best Director.

To take over every scene from the best film of the year....I hope he wins.

But he'll still always be Dirk Diggler

I caught the movie last night. Absolutely fantastic. The cussing, violence and story line are right in line with what I'm looking for in a good guy movie. Plus, my wife loved it too. I don't like Dicaprio, but he was great. Wahlberg had me laughing out loud in every one of his scenes, except the last one.
