With all the hype of Jimmy Clausen, I just just dont think he will be ready to take the #1 spot from Jones. Ive seen Jones on the side line all year signaling Quinn plays. Hes knows more of the system than Clause does. He has one year of experience under his belt. I think Jones will start against GT. But you never know these days. Clause could be the next great Notre Dame QB. Or maybe Frazier will or Jones. No one knows, but we will come spring/summer time.

Man tough call. I can't imagine Clausen stepping in & making a smooth transition to the college game. Look at the other 5 star QBs who played as freshmen: Matthew Stafford at Georgia & Mitch Mustain at Arkansas. They didn't exactly skip their learning curve. I don't know how highly rated the Illinois QB was going into this season, but I heard he was exciting to watch regardless of their record. Tebow is another story b/c he was a situational QB (more like FB). I wouldn't be suprised if we see Jones start & the winner between Clausen & Frazer mixed in. I usually hate 2 QB offenses, but how else can you tell who will perform better in game situations?

I want the guy that has the most experience in the Weis offense to start. I dont care about the big names coming out of HS. Sharpley was backup to a Heisman candidate, that has to say something about his talent and potential. I want to see what Sharpley is made of.

I either want Clausen, Jones or Frazer to start in no particular order. Would prefer not to see Sharply play because I would rather the younger starter to get the gametime experience. With that said, whoever CW goes with is fine with me as he can evaluate a QB alot better than I can.

I would like to see Jones start this year...more mobile with new OL. Then again what if Jones does really well next year...maybe Jimmy will be the one transfering next year not Jones or Frazier. I think we all know Charlie will put the best on the field so whoever he chooses I am fine with....

I want Jones
I expect Sharpley

God I hope not, I just don't think Sharpley will be good enough to lead us to the promise land in 08 and 09. Bo offense but I'd really like Charlie to go with the young guys and get them ready for the ride of their lives in the next couple of years. Hopefully Jones or Clausen.

I think if Jimmy can come in and be as productive as McCoy was this year than he should most likley get the nod, if not I would like to see Jones, good arm and mobil

Too early to tell. Hopefully, one guy will really come into his own in spring and fall practice.

I am inclined to say Clausen...but looking at the very tough schedule and the inexperienced offensive line, I would rather him sit and learn the system. So, I guess that I would like to see Demetrius Jones in there. I loved the excitement of the Arnaz Battle / Carlyle Holiday days and I believe that Jones is better than either of those guys at this stage. It will be fun to watch.

If Craig Krenzal (sp?) can lead OSU to a NC, Sharpley can do it.

Sharpley is a damn good QB and a lot of you would know this if you didn't crap on every recruit that you think Willingham recruited

Weis knew it well enough to make him the #2 this year, and Not Jones or Frazer

he was # 2 becuase he had no other options and for mop up duty, Sharpley made the best goat preserving the other two Qbs 5th years.

I could have sworn Weis has said many times he isn't interested in "preserving 5th years" as its his job to get them out in 4....

I don't buy what you are saying at all, IF weis is a man of his word, the best players would play, Sharpley played

Which shows, at most, that Sharpley was the best player LAST YEAR. What people are arguing -- and note that I don't have a horse in this race -- is that Jones, Frazier, and Clausen have more talent, and that with another year to develop they might be better than Sharpley. But again, I haven't seen any of them play so I have no concrete opinions to offer ...

all of what one total quarter? That 5th year sure looked good to Stovall and McKnight, as well as the few that are returning this year. Its good to have that in the pocket in case something really goes wrong injury wise. Whether you use it or not, CW is not an idiot. he would not waste 5 minutes on a guy in one game if he could win the game while sending in sharpley thereby preserving their extra year of eleigibility. plus, who was sending in the signals. I believe it was Jones, not sharpley. Besides how many pass attempts did sharpley have? He really did not do too much. I could have handed the ball off to aldrige in mop up time.

Stovall didn't play a 5th year and the only reason McKnight did was he got a Medical Redshirt..

Hey I'm a fan of redshirting....I'm just pointing out that WEis has said he is not

he may not be a "fan of it" but if it is available because someone didnot play their fresh year, i think he will take it.

True, but as he as stated, he won't sit someone, just so they have a 5th year,,,if it works out that way...so be it...

Jones and Frazer weren't sat on purpose, they were beat out

There is a big difference between not putting someone in to hand the ball off in mop-up duty and "sitting" him.
