I'm actually not sure if you can change your name. Nor am I sure if there is a moderator around anymore who can. Don't worry about it now.How do I change my name?
denial aint just a river in Africa. If you knew anything about football you would see that he is right.
I don't consider myself a Weiss "droid", but let me point out something...
It has been reported that Urban Meyer took the Florida job because he said he could win faster there...
I think that alone tells us that while we have talent on our team, we do not have much elite talent (see other posts where they show the rankings of our recruits vs other elite teams -this years sophs thru seniors)...once again it all comes down to the players on the field...I still am withholding final Judgement on CW until at least the end of his 4th or 5th year (and yes, that is giving him a break vs Ty, but look at the recruits CW has lined up vs Ty's and while not all work out, it does tend to be an indicator...if CW can't get top 5 finishes and in the NC hunt as those guys play a few years in the system, then CW will have major problems keeping people off his back...
People can go ahead and complain, its their right, but that's like yelling at the guy running a marathon who sarts at the back of the horde of runners when he only reaches the top third after the first mile...

To prove we're not all droids: I've complained about this as well.1. Quinn comes out too jacked up, missing guys badly with overthrows. He takes a quarter to get going, the scores after 1 quarter vs the 3 bigs was already 10+ deficit.
I've noticed adjustments. They happen. The hard part about throwing more than 20 yards downfield is having time to do it. I honestly think the OL will improve over the next couple seasons.2. I see very little changes after halftime no matter the score, its still draw, bubble screen, slant. We have a top 5 NFL QB and a top 20 NFL receiver, along with a 5 year guy who had 15 tds, one of the best TEs in the country and how many passes does Quinn throw that are over 20 yards?
This is apparently being addressed. There's too much smoke at this point for there not to be some fire.3. The defense was so inept at covering the pass that it was like watching a 13 week prevent defense. Guys had to stay 10 yards off the ball, Zbikowski was never there for help defense. It was a sad spectacle.
The kicking game is being addressed as well. As are your next two points. Though I think Price did a nice job of pinning them inside the twenty. He really wasn't given as many opportunities. They often went for it from that range.4. The kicking game was so bad, it was basically 4 down territory from the opp 40 - 10 yard line. Thats more undue pressure on the offense.

If you didn't think he could adapt, than you probably didn't see much of him at NE. His "system" changed drastically from year to year based on the available personnel. Watch some Pats tape pre-Corey Dillon and post-Corey Dillon. If its being addressed then its a good thing. it means there is a problem and it needed to be corrected.
One of my worries was that Weis seems stubborn but if hes firing these coaches then it really shows that he is a dynamic coach and can adapt.
Greenjerseys07...I am calling you crazy. USC is gonna kill us again next year making it 6 years in a row. Weis is Carroll's bitch until he proves otherwise.

That's a dumb thing to say, IMO.
Switch things and give Carroll ND's team, and Weis USC's team.
I think Weis beats Carrol just as easily, and probably even harder last year. You can't just analyze Coach A and Coach B when Coach A(Carroll) has been coaching USC for 6 years and Coach B(Weis) has been there for 2 years and with a very empty well aside from 1 class.
I wouldn't consider myself weis anything or notre dame anything either if i couldn't spell charlie's name correctly![]()
When nobody had film on ND, last year, we were "innovative" and "exciting" - now its down to predictable and stale. LSU made adjustments at the half and easily shut down ND and in addition, made easy work of ND.
Even Terry Bradshaw commented "if youre down 41-14 and throw a 1 yard pass, you might as well get the young guys in"
Its draw, bubble screen, slant.
Of course on defense - same old story - get a reciever down field and air it out and youre sure to get yourself 2-3 50+ yard TDs against the ND defense.
Outcoached by Les Miles. Fantastic job guys.
The fake punt was as dumb a call as Ive seen. Down 7 already and you give them a 20 yard field? Good Lord. Ever heard the expression "you cant win a game in the first half but you can sure lose a game in the first half."
After ND tied it at 14, who didnt just know for sure LSU was gonna pop a quick 7 up there before half? It was almost scripted in my book. Good ole Zibby in hot pursuit of a guy 8 yards behind him - per the usual.
In 4 weeks prep, with an opponent everybody knew was better, there was NOTHING new in the ND arsenal. We ran on them in the first half at will - 2nd half Walker gets 3 yards after a 125 first half.
I would say, at this point, the only saving grace is the incoming recruit class, other than that, ND is far behind the elite teams, and Id even say far behind the boise's and Arkansas' and even maybe a BYU and any other passing team in the fringe top 20.
WEis is proving he knows little to nothing about defense
I don't understand this comment!? How can have he done such a good job from an offensive standpoint (@ New England and 2 yrs. at ND) without knowing SOMETHING about defense?!? Is he just a lucky guesser on which offensive play to call in order to gain yards and score touchdowns? I would believe he knows a helluva a lot more about "D" than what you give him credit for.

So you would be OK with our next defensive coordinator being from the offensive side of the ball? Maybe take an offensive coordiantor from LSU, USC, Louisville etc and making him our defensive coordinator?

I'm not less impressed by him yet, as In my opinion as many know...he really hasn't done anything to impress me...
So we didn't get upset by bad teams under him (ignoring the loss at home to a sub .500 MSU team as most do). But I'm not going to be impressed with a stat like that as he was left a very veteran and talented team. Sure it had some depth holes, but his first 2 years he had the players and talent to do what he did....so going 1-5 against the top 25 (0-5 against the top 23) didn't exactly create any impression that he was great....nor was there any need to be impressed by him
Many are impressed by his Super Bowl rings, I would be too if he was our Offensive cordinator as that was his job when he won them, he did not win them as a Head coach...
He has done a good job of recruiting, but lets face it, he has tons of playing time to offer, a brand new multi million dollar athletic facility to show off, and we are ND....and his first class was mostly 3 stars, this class is an improvement over last years, but we aren't geting the DT's and LB's we NEED....
So he gets a B on recruiting from me....
The guy has done an ok job in my opinion....not bad, but nothing special....I think our future looks bright....but we need some cordinators BADLY as WEis is proving he knows little to nothing about defense

No, don't put words in my mouth. All I'm saying is that a good offensive coordinator (or head coach as in Charlie's case w/ his offense mindset) knows a lot about defense. Plain and simple! This would be vice versa for a GOOD defensive coordinator. Defense is not Charlie's forte, but he has to have a lot of knowledge about what goes on from the defensive side of the ball! That goes with any GOOD offensive coordinator .... they know alot about defenses ... not saying they would be good defensive coordinators.
