Look. I haven't been on this site for terribly long, nor do I really contribute a whole lot of inside information. However, I feel like I need to say something about everything that's going on.
I was a regular contributor before things went downhill, and I am no longer. The thing is, it's no longer enjoyable to post here. I mean, damn, it used to be that every post would have something interesting to add to the conversation. Even if it was an argument, everyone worth their salt would have something intelligent to offer. Maybe the 25 post limit brought out all the mouthbreathers. Maybe IE just got too big for it's own good. But you'll notice, all the old guard has moved out and a new guard has moved in. Most of the people that have high post counts rarely post here anymore. And it's because the new big men on campus just aren't as good.
To everyone who thinks Svo betrayed them, or Jigga is a turncoat, or they should start their own IrishEnvy where everything will be so much better: You'll notice that few, if any, threads are locked on this board (which was the weirdest thing when I first got here). Few, if any, people are banned, and if they are, it's for a damn good reason. The board is self-maintained. That means it's YOU doing this to yourselves. Starting a new board with everyone here is going to result in the same damn thing, devoted administrator or not. There just isn't the community there used to be. The loss of an admin doesn't do a whole lot when the admin doesn't exercise his powers often, and the reason the board has gone to shit is because of the people here, not svo leaving. And those who payed for a varsity membership are getting all of the benefits they got before. It's just that svo isn't adding his knowledge, and you don't get content from jigga anymore, which everyone got for free anyway. And that's why people are so frustrated now. They were leaching off of the core of the community, and the core of the community went elsewhere. Now all the hangers-on are left without anyone to bring thought to the discussion.
So a round of high-fives, everyone. You'll all be fine at your new IrishEnvy, with your mods and all your cool friends. It'll be sweet! At least you won't be whining about everything you thought you deserved anymore.
