Charlie Weis stated after the Sugar Bowl that Notre Dame is a "nice" 10-3 team and I notice that alot of you guys out there put that quote in some of your threads. Here's what pisses me off and really gets to me. WHY CANT WE BE A "NASTY, TOUGH, HARDWORKING, INTELLIGENT" 10-3 football team. Where's the promise that Charlie gave us??? I havent seen "NASTY" yet, I havent seen "TOUGH" yet, some of the players are "HARDWORKING" and most of the players are "INTELLIGENT" mainly in the classroom. Other than that, I havent really seen "TOUGH", "NASTY", "HARDWORKING", or "INTELLIGENT" yet have you?

the nasty was there last year, but we saw this year just how important Mays and Hoyte were in our LB core. We had to move TT to LB and move Zibby up to help support the run, then we got burned deep because we still didn't have the speed on our D.

The nasty will be there the more Weis gets his guys in place. Takes a couple years to get it going.

CW was being sarcastic with his "Nice" description of his team. He also said a 10-3 team was just playing one more game. If you read between the lines on that one he basically said we did not improve at all from last year. And he's right.

Right on, Marv. The loss of Hoyte and Mays -- and the consequent troubles Crum had at his new position -- is a HUGE part of the reason why our 'D' took such a step back. Patience, children, patience.

Also, we really missed Stovall on the Offense. McKight was ok, but he was a bit of a dissapointement.

Describing your team as a "nice" 10-3 team is not a compliment.

Yeah, and I don't think he meant 'nice' as in "polite"; more like 'nice' as in "okay, but not spectacular". Marv's current avatar has a 'nice' breast shot, but his previous one with the soap, etc was "nasty"

Stovall started slow, and was a force by the end of the year. McKnight had a quiet season (Even with 15tds), and didn't seem to improve over the course of the year.
