ACC: 4-3
SEC: 4-3
Big 12: 4-4
Big 10: 3-3
PAC-10: 3-3
MAC: 1-1
Sun Belt: 1-1
Independents: 0-1
C-USA: 0-4

Upshot: no dominant conferences, just lots of parity. And the Big East sure looks like a bunch of jerks for ripping off all those teams from Conference USA.

The Big East fans are going to use this as proof that their conference is as good as anyone elses. It's unfortunate that these teams didn't really get to flex their muscles versus top notch competition.

I would have liked to have seen West VA and Rutgers play stronger teams. If Louisville beats Wake, when the final season ranking come out, none of the teams that faced the Big East in bowls will be top 15.

What the hell are you talking about? South Florida was in C-USA, as were Louisville and Cincinatti (both yet to play, but likely to win). My point was that C-USA is 0-4 while the Big East has a chance to go undefeated in their bowls thanks in part to three former C-USA teams. K-State and G-Tech have nothing to do with this.

I completely agree with Solo, though, about the lack of real competition for these Big East teams. But this should do at least SOMETHING to quiet their critics.

scheduling is part of the bowl games. If outright affects where teams go. I have been around the block my friend for a long time ( but i am not a whore as you so eloquently put it), BTW and i was just saying that it is easy to criticize a conference for its affiliations and tie ins and scheduling when ND has no tie ins or affiliations and will be criticized for it scheduling more so over the next few years.

I'm a BE fan..... I can tell you right now that all the pundits used it against the BE last year when they were 0 for going into the Sugar Bowl. Well lets just say it was tamed after WVU put the smack down on Georgia in Atlanta. I don't care who they play, 5-0 is well 5-0.. K. State beat Texas.. GT is very good, if fact right now it is our "signature" win... And Wake won the ACC including beating FSU 30-0 in Tallahassee..

The BE isn't the best conference, isn't the worst... But one thing for sure is they deserve a BCS bid.

From way up here on my "high horse" I'll point out once again that ND has never had tie-ins and affiliations and is still subjected to scheduling criticism right now. If you've been around the block, surely you've noticed ND being criticized for it's weak scheduling.

Of course, none of this has anything to do whatsoever with my original comment that conference cheerleading is a safety net for when your team sucks. The vehement and agressive defense of said conferences by their supporters leads me to believe I am correct.

I can't call beating a 5 loss GT team a signature win under any circumstances. That said, 5-0 in bowl games is impressive.

You are right, WVU saved the BE.

I do admit it, Rutgers and WVU scedules were definitely down. WVU, in my opinion gets a pass for a couple reasons. 1) they beat Ga in Atlanta the previous year. 2) they were forced into playing Ga. by their state politicians. 3) Last minute VT dropped them(literally last minute). 4) defection of Miami, BC and VT. 5) in '08 - '14 they have Auburn, Florida St and Mich st on their schedule. 6) WV did play for two national champions and have always scheduled tough teams in the past.

Louisville played Kansas St and Miami(fl) in the reg season. I can't fault them for those programs being down. Just as I cannot fault us for PSU, GT, UCLA, Purdue, Mich st have sub par years.

Kansas State has been irrelevant since Ell Roberson left in 2003 (2nd year of Ty's campaign). Louisville knew they were patsy.
