I'm suprised that Fisher isn't a HC yet. Word is that Les Miles & him don't get along & he'll end up as OC at FSU. He's miles ahead of Minter as far as coaching reputation.

When you look at the coaching matchups, I think LSU has the advantage.

Weis to Miles...........Big Adantage to ND

Minter to Pelini.......Big advantage to LSU

Haywood to Fisher...Big advantage LSU

I don't think that Les Miles isa great coach. In fact, I think he has managed to do less with more. I personally feel that he may have the most talented team in the nation but managed to lose 2 games. Saban would have gone undefeated. That said, he did assemble a great staff to make up for his inadequacies. I think Fisher and Pelini will both be head coaches in the next 3 years.

Except Haywood isn't the guy that sets the gameplans, calls the plays or any of that OC type stuff. That's Weis job. On gameday Haywood is essentially offensive vice president - in the event of CW's death or incapication Haywood takes over in all other circumstances his job is be ready and serve the president.

Yes, I understand that. But in my opinion, there is a built in disadvantage by having the HC also be a Coordinator. I feel that there is a HC role as well as coordinator roles for a reason. And if your head coach is doing 75% of the coordinators job, then what is he not doing?

Having extemely qualified people in coordinator roles is an advantage in my opinion.

I think Fisher will get a head coaching job sooner than later. With Alabama still desparate and Minnesota having fired Mason, I wouldn't be surprised if Fisher became a serious candidate, if not this year then next.
