Unless he "lights it up" at the Sugar Bowl, I would bet that Zibby is returning ... just by reading through the varous articles/comments regarding his 5th year.

I think it's his best bet to play another year. He really fell off some people's radar charts this year I think. I think it'd be great for the team and for him to stick together. I just wished they had moved him to outside linebacker. He would play so much better there I think, but I still want to see him return.

Falling off the radar is not being named to a 3rd team All-American position.

I hope we get to see him back in the blue and gold. Another season will help boost his draft position in the NFL. But he could go make a run at it now and play well enough to make it.

Why not? Dude is built like a tank and has an attitude to go with it. He's got cover skills and Brian Urlacher written all over him. He's on too much of an island as a safety I believe. Give him more opportunities to make plays.

I'm on the fence with the Zibby LB thing. He hits like an LB, and plays his best in run support. He may not have the build (i.e. weight) of an NFL linebacker, but it seems his more natural position. If he stays, I'd be in his best interest to stay at SS though. I still can't decide!

I am not sure what another year at ND will get Zibby in the draft. Our defense will not be any better and his in-between position he played last year will be much the same. I don't think he is a first round draft choice this year or next. The scouts are going to judge him based on combine numbers.

Also, did you hear the comments from Harrision Smith. He specifically said Zibby is leaving this year which will open up the safety spot for him to play early. Not sure he has inside information but I read into this statement that he may have been told something.

Zibby is gone IMO.

He does not have the physical build to play LB. True and awesome Lbs are typically 6-2 to 6-5 about 240 lbs and can run 4.5-4.7. There are exceptions, i just dont think he fits into that category.
