I stand corrected. The QB was not Salisbury. The QB was Paul McDonald. BUt I'll still vomit when Salisbury shows up on ESPN. As for the kicker, his name was Frank Jordan. I'll get that correct until the day I die.

Mine's definately the Dillingham play against BC in 2002. I was a freshman, we were 8-0 and rolling. Green jersey's. Dillingham practically hands the ball to a LB in the backfield, it looked like he was saying, "here take the ball just don't hurt me". Then the wheels fell off the rest of that year. Two years following we became joke status and forced me to root against us in order to get Ty fired.

Silver lining: helped facilitate Willingham's departure.

how about losing to #1 Nebraska in 2000 by 3 cuz Davie plays for "field position"

Actually, I think Davie was just trying to look good ! I honestly think he could have cared less if we won that ball game ! Wasn't this the game where Davie chicken-shitted us into OT ?

this isn't necessarily a specific play, but I remember travelling home in 2004 (?) for the FSU game...that entire game was a nightmare..play after play going absolutely horrible, I literally got sick walking back to the car...I was stone sober, just crushed. Other than that any mentioned before are up there, the ghost clip, the 4th and 9. Personally I agree w/ 93 BC, we were on top of the world after the FSU game, only to plummet to BC.

I was flying back from Missouri that game... all my family back there thought I was crazy for saying ND could win it... when I landed in Vegas I almost starting crying when I saw the way we lost on the highlight... anyway that was the last game I missed before the Air Force game this year

Just FYI I was watching a count down of the greatest CFB upsets on ESPN today.. they went over the 93 BC game and they were indeed ranked, in the top 15 according to the show... This was an issuse that had been discussed on the board, if they were ranked or not...

I'll say the Bush Puch only because we were seconds away from shocking the world. That play very well could have cost us a chance at the National Title game in only CW's 1st year. We would have been 10-1 with a win over USC(the greatest team of all time). We still would have lost to Texas, but we may have had a chane at getting in. Instead, we had a moral victory that lasted a week.

I am not sure about the worst play that I can remember, but the worst decision was when Davie decided to run the placekicker draw against Michigan State.

For one thing, why would you have your kicker run the football with the game on the line? If you are going to fake it, you need to have your holder run the ball, and your holder needs to be someone used to running with the football. I don't remember who the holder was, but they are usually back-up quarterbacks or other skilled players. A play designed for the holder would have made a lot more sense.

Even worse, who was he trying to fool? He called for a fake field goal when ND was down by four late in the game. Did he honestly believe that MSU would fall for it? This isn't arena football. You cannot drop kick a field goal for four points. There is absolutely no way that faking a field goal in the final 2:30 of a game makes any sense if you are down by more than three points. That's footbaw 101, moron.
