Multiple Injuries Reported After Explosion, Collapse At East Village Building « CBS New York

Emergency responders are on the scene of an explosion and collapse at a building in Manhattan’s East Village.

The explosion and collapse were reported at around 3:20 p.m. at 7th Street and Second Avenue Thursday afternoon.

This fire went to a 7 alarm which is rare to go that high. Most of the time it reaches 4 or 5 alarms at the max. FDNY is a great dept.

Last I heard was 12 injuries. 7 minor 4 critical and 1 serious. They did have a mayday for 2 firefighters missing. But all were accounted for shortly after.
