This will mark the fifth time in the nine-year history of the BCS that there has been controversy involving the title-game participants.
He's a dickless douche...no doubt he's afraid of playing Michigan again but didn't want to vote for Florida because he knew he'd catch hell for that in the press....so he abstains. He's the SDLP of the Irish peace process.Gotta love that Big Ten support from Tressel. Do you think a SEC coach in the same position would refrain from voting?
Did Carr and Urban also abstain so it would not appear that they were tooting their own horn. Screw sweatervest....he pussed out. Vote your conscience and who cares what they say in the papers.Actually abstaining is the right move. If he picks Florida, it's because he's afraid of Michigan, and he's not supporting the Big10, etc. If he picks Michigan, he's biased towards the Big 10, or is afraid of Florida, and wants to play Michigan again cause he knows he can beat them.
If that's true, then it's a conflict of interest from week 1 through to the end of the season. It would have been a huge conflict of interest.
I don't think you completely understand the whole "conflict of interest" thing. For Carr and Meyer, voting the way they feel will get them into the championship game. However, Tressel is a third party. His interests would be to accurately rank the two teams behind him and to win a championship. He could have easily chose the team he thought was worse. This is what he should have done instead of not voting. He took the easy way out because he didn't want to answer why he voted the way he did.Tressel is a third party. His interests would be to accurately rank the two teams behind him
YEAH BABY! I LOVE IT. I DID NOT WANT TO SEE MICHIGAN IN THERE.

BTW - According to one of the Irish blogs, the coaches vote was something like 44-13 in favor of Florida. So Tressel's vote wouldn't have meant jack squat in determining who his team would play. Quit pretending that this righteous man withheld the vote that would have made the difference.
Maybe he just didn't want the appearance of a lack of integrity. He knew it was none of his business to decide who his team played. Whoever he chose, someone would accuse him of choosing the team he thought would be easiest to beat.
Uh, no, because now it directly impacts who his team plays. I don't want Tressel picking his opponent. It would make the already ludicrous BCS situation have even less integrity.
Then he would be the only one... The folks who dropped Michigan two spots in 2 weeks showed their true stripes. They voted for the match up, not the best two teams.
Florida showed nothing in the last 2 weeks deserving of moving up 2 spots...
It's a sham.
Let's hope that when Tebow runs left on 3rd and 3 that Little Animal nails him with a clothesline like his old man used to nail Jimmy Snuka.

that would be hillarious. i smell a fark.I'm waiting for Lllllllloyd to come out and tell everyone that he is shocked that, while he was at home eating his cheeseburger, Florida jumped over Michigan.
Florida is going to get destroyed. The SEC is an overrated conference and LSU is probably the best team in that conference right now. I'm really not interested in this NC at all this year. Might as well hand OSU the trophy.
