can I ask you guys a stupid question? How do you copy someones prior post that shows up in the box?

Sorry - I've been a quiet reader of the board since joining and I'm trying to get my post #'s up so I can get access to the recruiting profiles again.

its coaching its coaching its fricken coaching...kids only become monsters by bad parenting...players only become average by bad coaching....
or if they have a genetic tendency. or if they get beat up in school, etc. Just as Nature vs. Nurture isn't really a clear issue ("But really, aren't we all responsible for little Johnny's misbehavior?"), so is ND's defense. It's a mix of coaching deficiency, talent deficiency, and a scheme that doesn't really fit the players on hand.

there should be an icon in the bottom of the post with large blue quote marks on it. Click on it and it will automatically quote the post in your reply.

It couldn't be totally coaching, UCLA gave up 66 to SC last year with pretty much the same coaches.....

Walker is a first year d-coordinator. He was not there last year. Also, Chuck Bullough, the linebacker coach, and Todd Howard, the d-line coach are in their first years at UCLA (he was with the Jacksonville Jaguars last year). Their secondary coach is in his third year.

I think UCLA has comparable talent to what we have on defense. They also have more depth and Dorrell has recruited these kids to play a certain position rather than just trying to plug holes. I won't lie though, I think they have a defensive scheme that is better than ours.

USC left it on the field last week. They played three difficult opponents consectutive weeks. Before that run started Lou Holtz predicated they wouldn't go unscathed. "It's difficult getting a team up week after week after week."

When you have recruits commenting that NDs defense is so overly complicated that it doesnt work, you know there is a problem.

Maybe I'm out of touch, but which recruits have commented about this? I'd be interested to hear more about that.
