I'm CONFUSED!

I play NCAA football 2007 for xbox 360 at least one game per night on average, the average game last about 45 minutes to an hour (I only play 5 minute quarters) also if you guys/girls were wondering.... my team is the IRISH. Anyway to make a long story short, My girlfriend cant stand it when I play the game. All I want to do is come home from a hard day at work and play a game to kinda unwind a bit. It's kinda a stress reliever for me. (Nothing like beating the shit out of michigan 45-13) anyway she always has something to say like "you play that dumb game too much" or she might say something to the effect of "are you playing that game because you dont like me anymore"?????? WHAT??? Where the hell does that come from? When she's watching some bullshit on the lifetime channel or something, I never say anything like that. Does this just happen in my world or does anyone else get this same thing? Just wondered and I know it's a bit off topic but please feel free to respond.

However, come home...spend a few minutes with her(30 should be OK), ask her about her day and then grab a beer for a quick game. Ask her is she wants to be Michigan to which she will say no and then enjoy. If she still gives you crap, then assess what is more important (this can be a dangerously enlightening situation).

Nice. She lets me watch football on saturday for sure but I dont get into pro that much so I usually never watch on sunday. And I always give her plenty of time each night with a hug or cuddle time or draw a bath for her (so I can play my game) etc etc..

When ever a former girlfriend took that kind of angle on something I enjoy, sports usually, I ask her if she likes going shopping without me bitching at her constatnly about it? and if she wants a partner or puppy? But then, all those girls are now ex-girlfriends... lol...

See, THERE is your mistake. Drawing a bath for her = good. Drawing a bath for her and then spending time with her while she's taking that bath = better. Especially if she knows that's usually when you play your Xbox.

Personally, I find that the best trick is to occasionally mention to my girlfriend that that I'm thinking of getting a PS2. This usually prompts her to look for... um... more interesting ways to spend my time.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Comin' up on 4 years together, and I still don't have that darn PS2. Not that I'm complaining...

It happens to eveyone. The stratagy I like to go with is to let them have their way on things that I don't care about very much. Then when there is somthing that I really care about I have the ability to put my foot down and politely remind them that they got their way on previous things that were important to them, so if we want our relationship to work it needs to be fair to both people. As long as you can name specific examples of when she got her way and you don't come across as a jerk you will probably get your way most of the time.
