Help! What happened to the recruiting profiles?

Don't panic... they're still there!

After discussing with some of the IrishEnvy.com staff, we've disabled recruiting profiles for users that have not been registered for at least 7 days and that have not made at least 25 posts on the site.

We're trying to get more user contribution on the forums from our members as only 180 of nearly 2700 (6.7%) members have made 25 or more posts. The average contribution rate on most discussion forums is 20-33% of the registered members, so we think it is a fair exchange for all the work everyone puts into them.

If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a private message.

argh. jim rome. one of the most irritating personalities in sports. what's even worse is that his guests are awesome, so you almost HAVE to listen.

aquired taste, you either love him, or you hate him...i love the show, he has the best national program on AM radio

I think he goes both ways. Somedays I like his schtick and he has great points and then there are days that he's absolutely terrible. I switch between his show and the Dan Patrick show during my lunch hour.

Anyhow, bumping this back up to the top since I got several private messages in regards to recruiting profile access.

It isn't points... it's contributing the boards. We've got way too many lurkers (those members that just read and don't post) and we're looking to get more people involved!

Also, if you did purchase the book through here, we did not get credit for it. You must use the link contained within that thread otherwise it gets credited elsewhere.

I think that there should be a grandfather clause.
If we did that, there would be no point in changing the system in the first place. I don't think getting involved in the discussions is asking too much, do you?

It doesn't take but 5-10 minutes to drop a thoughful post or two into some topics you have interest in all the while it does help spur conversation and gets additional viewpoints.

So, this may sound like a smart*** post (so it probably is), but how can we post in the recruiting files, if we can't read them?

a comment on a post or a "thank you" is not that hard to do. I have often read posts and thought of thanking the poster but failed to do so. Also, it doesn't take long to post something from articles we have read (from free sites) and let others know about them. I'll try and do that in the future.

So I suppose you're calling me a lurker since this is my first post. I have some catching up to do since I really enjoyed the profiles. Great site, I'll try to contribute more.

Svo thank you for answering my question. I would have to agree with all the other comments that have been posted. I have been "lurking" through the post with hardly any contribution. For that I appalogize. Like someone already stated I have to start contributing more becuase Irish eny.com is like a drug to me. I NEED IT TO GET BY. Thanks for the great site and job that is done here!

Svo, I think that you are better off setting a monthly requirement. Once people hit the required number of posts, they may stop posting. You don't want that. I suggest 5-10 posts a month as a requirement.

Hey guys, it doesn't have to be about recruiting. Hit some of the other forums. The Leprechaun Lounge, for example, is a great place to post about anything in the world that you want. Heck, we've spent half the week talking about what we had for lunch. That would have been a couple quick easy posts for you right there.

Some days I don't get lunch, so that might be a short conversation.
Feel free to drop a post calling me a jackass or something. It would only take a few seconds and I'd be happy to help you reach 25.
