Yeah...those are the first 5 that jump to my mind. Especially Miami and FSU. I remember watching their first game and thinking "these guys suck". But NOOOOOOO ESPN talked about how it was an epic battle of Florida Defenses...

I don't see how Va Tech was a huge dissapointment. They're ranked in almost the exact same position as they were in the pre season, and have only 2 losses.

iowa sticks out as a big letdown for me. anyone remember the FSU/Miami game at the beginning of the year? "THESE DEFENSES ARE JUST SO FAST!!!!!" i could tell even at that point that the offenses were just incredibly inept. that being said....

They have a bigger quantity of good teams, but those teams aren't necessarily better than the best teams from other conferences. I think that's where the media gets confused.
