Yeah, it's pretty messed up. I have heard a couple of people give him hell though. Mike Francesa and Chris Russo on WFAN here in NYC in particular. Which is funny, b/c Fancesa & Russo used to have a friendly relationship w/ Meyer, but they both hate the way he's been acting.

Francesa even said that he forced him to root for Spurrier when Florida played SC, and Francesa HATES Spurrier and never roots for him.

He took a little bit of heat down here in Florida, but he also got the obligatory "he's just frustrated" excuse. Charlie got the full wrath and of course people had to throw in his weight as well.

Weis complains about the voters and he is slammed for weeks in a constant media event in every sports column, magazine, and by every TV personality.

Urban Crier does the exact same thing and.........***crickets***

I think the difference was the Meyer spoke to the REMATCH issue first...and many people agree with thaet.

Although, when he got into whether FL had the inside track he leaned into Charlie's territory.

Weis made the mistake of making a sarcastic remark to people he knew, which was taken somewhat out of context by people he does not really know.

In the end, the media is being nice to Urban and crapping on Weis...

F Meyer.

"If I'm Ohio State, I go get a bunch of rings picked out and
say we won the national championship," Meyer said. "That's not
right. That's not right. I think what happened in 1996 (with
Florida getting a rematch against Florida State) was a lot
different
because you didn't have the BCS. You had simply voting at
the end, and that was unique. ... This is a completely different
era now."

LOL, didn't even notice that the first time! Gotta love it, we can't have Urban de-legitimizing Florida's NC in '96, now can we?

Aero I love their show and usually catch it on YES. I want to say Mike is a ND fan but I have never really heard him say it.

CW is the coach of Notre Dame... U M is the coach for UF... You don't see an entire "nation" of Gator Hators do you??? ND is the only team in sports that literally has fans getting together and collectively cheering agianst them EVERY saturday... some of those same people are in the media... there you go... CW could break wind at a chilli cook off and those same members of the media will write about how rude and crude he is yet how the chilli tasted great...

A coach that is seemingly and very realistically bringing the Irish back to the top is a very hard thing for a lot of people to except... (see... the entire tOSU fanbase)

Doesn't Meyer have it backwards:

-Prior to the BCS the bowls would pick their match-up, and conceivably could bring a rematch about by a bowl's choice;

-post BCS, the Coaches/Harris polls and the computer rankings will determine #'s 1&2, and they will automatically meet in Glendale.

If the 2 polls and the computer rankings 'collectively' place Michigan #2, then a rematch is what will happen. If the conferences were to step in and change the match-up with Michigan at #2, that would be a much bigger travesty, IMO.

I hate the idea of a rematch, but it will be the outcome of the process, and not something that some committee decides.

He's weird. He is a Notre Dame fan (especially now b/c he love's Weis, but he was before too), but he also roots for Michigan. And he love's Michigan's fight song, they played it like every day last week. I'm still trying to get it out of my head.
