If you had to rank the quality of the loss for each team with one loss, what order would you but them in? This is not factoring in the other games each team has played or the team’s strength of schedule, just the quality of the game the team played in the loss and whether or not it was a home or road loss

  1. Wisconsin lost at Michigan 13 to 27
On game day Michigan was ranked 6th in the AP and is currently 2nd in the BCS.
2. Louisville lost at Rutgers 25 to 28
On game day Rutgers was ranked 15th in the AP and is currently 6th in the BCS.
3. Florida lost at Auburn 17 to 27
On game day Auburn was ranked 11th in the AP and is currently 14th in the BCS.
4. West Virginia lost at Louisville 34 to 44
On game day Louisville was ranked 5th in the AP and is currently 10th in the BCS.
5. Notre Dame lost to Michigan 24 to 47
On game day Michigan was ranked 11th in the AP and is currently 2nd in the BCS.
6. Arkansas lost to USC 14 to 50
On game day USC was ranked 6th in the AP and is currently 3rd in the BCS.
7. Wake Forest lost to Clemson 17 to 27
On game day Clemson was ranked 15th in the AP and is currently not ranked in the BCS.
8. USC lost at Oregon State 31 to 33
On game day Oregon State was not ranked in the AP and is currently not ranked in the BCS.

I think the only way that there will be a rematch in Glendale between UM and tOSU is if we beat USC, because I think USC is the only other 1-loss team that deserves to play tOSU.

You think USC is deserving then why would ND not be if they go on the road and beat USC. Would it be because we lost to Michigan? USC lost to Oregon St for heavens sake. So why would USC be deserving? Oregon St come on!

The fact of the matter is they lost to Oregon St. on the road by a very slim margin while we lost at home to Michigan by a pretty sizable margin. Nobody in the polls is going to put Notre Dame ahead of Michigan simply because Michigan spanked us. USC, on the other hand, if they beat us, the voters would no have a problem putting them ahead of Michigan since the two teams haven't played each other head to head. I am not saying that I agree with it, but I'm saying that is how the voters are going to vote, like it or not.

first, I LOATHE the idea of rematch. tOSU tried to hand that game to mich (3 bloody turnovers in their own territory in the second half, and mich gets 10 points out of it!) I guess it's better that the Nat'l Title game isn't decided by botched snaps, but come on, should a team that has trouble snapping the ball be the best in the nation?! Mich had their chance, and they lost it. What follows is my reasoning why they don't deserve a rematch.

i think than rather looking at who the one loss team lost to, you should look at who each team has beat (the fabled 'body of work'):

USC has beat arkansas, cal, nebraska, oregon, ND?, UCLA?.
ND has beat GT, Penn State, Mich State (still good at time of win), UCLA, USC?.
Arkansas has beat Bama, Auburn, Tennessee, LSU?, Florida?.
Mich has beat ND, Wisconsin, Penn state, Mich State (a demoralized team doesn't count), Iowa
Rutgers has beat Louisville, WVU?
Louisville has beaten WVU.
Florida has beat Tennessee, South Carolina, LSU, Bama, Georgia, Arkansas?

So which team's the most impressive based on their wins? Maybe Florida on paper, but since they look so mediocre every time they're on television I find it hard to see them being in the game. Mich's wins pale in comparison to Arkansas', Florida's and USC's. The big east isn't even worthy of this discussion anymore.

As much as I hate to say it, my conscience won't let me allow ND into the NC if they beat USC. It USC wins out, I think they deserve a title berth. Same goes for Arkansas, if they beat LSU and florida I think it would be hard to deny them a shot (that is, if ND beats USC). As for Florida, I've already mentioned them, but despite their schedule, I'd be livid if they get to play in the NC game.

There are my thoughts. I hope you guys are more receptive than my television is. Everytime I shout my thoughts at is, it ignores me.

It's going to come down to either USC or Florida if they win the SEC Championship. If ND beats USC they are out and if Florida loses then there will be a rematch. I Love ND and I'm sorry for saying this, but I hope they dont goto the NC game because it will be bad.

I couldn't agree with you more, I would much rather win a BCS bowl game and end that losing streak than lose in the National Title game, because I don't think we can beat Ohio St.

In 2 more years we will beat everyone. Just need more speed in recruiting and a bunch of DT's and LB's.
