On Campus tickets - warning - must read!!!

Just to warn everyone for next year.......saw a guy get busted buying tickets today. Undercover ND police sold tickets in front of the stadium (gate B) then busted the guy. Took his tickets, wrote him a ticket/citation, and did NOT return his money. Anyone else see or hear of this? Apparently it does not matter that you buy or sell tickets at face value, it is NOT allowed on campus at all. Anyone know how long that this has been the rule at ND???

The guy probably tried to sell them higher than face. That, or they were fake. The University cannot stop you from reselling them at face.

you answered your own question, all scalpers i've seen have been smart enough to not be on campus when scalping the tickets.

I think it's just not ND with this rule, i see it at pro arenas too...scalped tickets are not being sold on the grounds. Anyway it sucks to be that guy for not knowing better.....

guessing the matter of paying less than face value (or even face). think the definition of scalping most likely says something about charging more than face value. if it's illegal to sell for less than face, then I guess it's just as illegal to give it away?

It's not scalping that's illegal, it's buying/selling tickets on campus from any party not named Notre Dame that's illegal.

BTW - After the band played at Bond Hall on Saturday, as we were walking with the crowd to the stadium, the guy next to me was holding up a ticket trying to get rid of it for face value (and listening to him, I bet he'd have given it away). Good thing the undercover ND security guys weren't in earshot I guess.
