"I don't understand why Irish fans are so steamed about the latest rankings. Their team is all the way up to fifth in the BCS standings, and if the Irish beat USC, they're going to move even higher. Of course, all of this is completely moot, seeing as the Trojans are going to win that game by at least 17."

Yeah, he's had a lot of "they would get killed by...." jokes lately. We'll see. I want his e-mail address, so when ND wins I will e-mail him everyday on the hour until the bowl game.

I'm suprised he put us in the top 25. He cant stand ND. Glad he's too stupid for them to give him an AP vote.

I've realized this year that the anti-ND bias outnumbers the pro-ND bias by about 3 to 1.

I think Herbstreet has been fair in his analysis of ND and so has Corso for the most part, even though he is half out of his mind.

plus who's been complaining about being 5th. i havent seen any nd fans complaining about that. this formula of late to be blatently anti-ND for more viewers will bite these guys in the ass some time soon. they'll make themselves one dimensional in their writing and eventually nobody will care what they say bc it's the same in every article.

The best crow would be an ND victory, even if by one point.

They MUST win that SC game and SC needs to have only one loss. These hacks will look like even bigger dopes and have a hell of a lot less hate to spew.

We better get use to this type of way of thinking, because until ND beats an "elite" team like USC, this is the kind of shit we are going to be eating from the sports "journalist", like Mandel and May.

I know people where I work that are giving ND "no chance in hell" of winning that game next saturday. They think last year was a fluke and they feel that ND is in for a very long game next week. "An ass whooping worse than what Michigan gave them" is one of the lines a guy gave me.

I am preying that these bastards are wrong.

It is nervous bravado they are working off of. I work with a Fredo alumn who does the same thing. He thinks he can "will" ND to lose.

Everyone better stay healthy against Army. I truly hope they don't dick around with them and lay the wood to them early. Leave no doubt that they weren't looking ahead. Get the starters out and play the backup seniors on senior day. Going to SC without Carlson will be tough enough.

Don't show SC too much, but give Army a nice helping of offense. Seal the deal quick.

A victory over a one loss SC team should shut these people up.

Anyone that thinks USC will woop us, loses all credibility in my eyes.

By by the same token, anyone here that says we will probably win by 3 touchdowns... probably isn't making much sense either. It will be a good game, let's leave it at that.

i actually like to read Stewart Mandel. Yeah, he hates on Notre Dame, but his reasoning for doing so is hilarious. He's a funny writer that knows nothing about football besides what ESPN tells him. His articles are well-written and witty, so I like to read them. I ignore his anti-ND bias, because, I love when people talk trash about Notre Dame. I'd much rather have it this way than how it was back in the mid-late 90's.... noone said a THING about Notre Dame, b/c they were so far out of the national picture that noone cared. This hatred is coming from Notre Dame rising up from the dead and regaining dominance -- the better Notre Dame does, the more discrimination they get. Soak it up and enjoy it guys.... it's a privilege that so many people spend so much energy thinking about the Irish.... even if it is uneducated and ridiculous.

NJ you are absolutley correct. Because we've got the swagger back...the haters are coming out in full force. Bring it on. No one gets the attention that ND gets and our NBC contract will be an issue forever. Go ND!

NBC runs MSNBC, and on the MSNBC site, there's a section called Notre Dame Central. Note that they've had ND Central for years, even when ND wasn't in the top ten.

You can find all kinds of pro-ND coverage there. The main columnist is Alan Pinkett
