RB Arian Foster and two others were arrested after an altercation at nightclub following their loss to LSU. I hope Donald and Harrison take note of the absolute yahoos on this team and what Tennessee stands for. This is like the 5th-6th time players have been in trouble this year alone.

I wish in cases like this the NCAA would step in and not only punish the individuals but also punish the schools.

Yeah, I have to agree. I understand every school has some bad apples... but when you have more than 5 different occasions where Tennessee players are involved, I think you could use the "Lack of Institutional Control" card.

I do believe there are some yahoos on Tennesses's team, but Holbert and ARIAN Foster aren't bad guys. They were charged with underage consumption, let's not hang them here.

I agree, if this had been the first time something like this happened, ok things happen with kids in college. But when a school is a repeat offender, either they aren't bringing in the right character of kids or there is absolutly no control and something needs to be done.

"Foster, safety Antonio Wardlow and fullback David Holbert were charged with disorderly conduct and underage consumption, police said. Wardlow also was charged with public intoxication. All three players are 20."

It wasn't like they were just drinking at some house party.

They were also at a nightclub illegally, since I believe it's a 21-and-over establishment. They aren't 21 and showed intent to break the law by going to the night club. When you go breaking the law, trouble will find you.

Tennessee had a problem with players getting arrested before the 2005 season, which ended with a 5-6 mark. Eight players were arrested or cited between January and July 2005. This summer, the Vols had four players arrested, and one was dismissed from the team.
Quality men in this program.

Well it might have been a 21 and over club, might have not, but I guess I deserved to get arrested when I used a fake ID to get into bars. I agree that the disorderly conduct looks bad but they were jawing and pushing, not necessarily beating the hell out of people.

But you're not a football player, right?

I believe football players, who are basically paid representatives of the school, have different rules then those in the general student population. While you're there, being paid via scholarship, you should not be taking unnecessary risks because of the potential consequences if something goes wrong.

If you get in a fight with someone while using your fake ID, it doesn't make the front page.

I agree with you, they made a mistake and I'm sure they will pay for it. I don't believe this situation makes them "yahoos" though, which is what I objected to in the first place. I hope we get Smith and Donald as well but I doubt this situation would sway them one way or another.

Including these three, that's almost 20% of their 85 man roster that has been arrested in the past 24 months. That speaks volumes to me.

More Vols Arrested

More Vols Arrested

I watched that game and it was the first thing I said when it was over: they'll have a few arrests later that evening.

No shock here.

I'll explain what happen...it's simple, dumb, but simple.

Vols lose at home.
Players go out to bar...get drunk (to blow of some steam)
Drunk fans saying something about how much they suck. Players get angry.
Fight breaks out.
Three arrests.

I don't know if this is true, but having been to several games in Knoxville (and went out afterwards) I would almost be ready to bet my house on it.

UT fans can be both great (wins) and terrible (loses). Consider this just another bad weekend in Knoxville. It is getting old however...there is no doubt about that.
