I think it's funny that Nd now wants Michigan to win. I know, you don't want us to lose a close game to OSU, becuase then it would be hard to vault Nd ahead of a team that smashed them earlier on in the year.
Reality check time: Louisville will be in the title game. I don't like it. The Big East is not a strong conference and Louisville really hasn't played anyone, outside of a badly declined Miami team and an overrated West Virginia team.
But they'll lose to Rutgers, you say. Not gonna happen. Literally the first words uttered out of the mouths of Petrino and his best players were that they wanted to focus on Rutgers, right after their win against West Virginia. They'll be ready, and there will not be a letdown. Not that it matters. Louisville beat Rutgers 56-5 last year. The Rutgers defense hasn't changed, and if you don't have a strength to stand on, Louisville will rip you apart. And of course, Pitt will fold under the pressure, just like Wannstadt.
Another thing that hasn't changed is Nd's defense. North Carolina scored more points against Nd than they did against every other opponent they've played so far except DII Furman, and that was after their coach was fired and they couldn't beat Wake in the follow up game. Think Manningham is bad. Wait for more refined versions of Manningham in Steve Smith and Dwayne Jarret. And don't expect USC to commit 4 turnovers at home. And don't expect USC to lose two straight games at home, assuming they lose to Cal.
Besides, the Florida/Auburn winner will probably be the best one loss team anyways. Florida isn't losing to FSU (a team whose offense stalls against good teams) and Auburn certainty isn't losing to punchless Georgia and Alabama.
