If we lose to SC and go 10-2 is anyone else hoping we don't make the BCS...I don't know about anyone else but I would rather win the Gator bowl then lose the Sugar and let's assume we'd be playing Florida or Texas, that would take a heck of an effort that our Irish haven't shown all year....

I am fully aware of the money loss this would be but does ND really need more money?? Let's win a damn bowl game already... anyone else thinking like me right now...?

I sorta feel the same way. It would nice to just get a bowl win of any kind. that's not to say I don't think we could win a BCS bowl because I do, but if we lose to USC, I don't have a problem with the gator bowl.

and as for ND needing money, well, tuition sure indicates they do, but everything else indicates otherwise.

If florida beats georgia,then auburn will stay where they are at.I do agree to a certain extent they should drop though.Call it sour grapes from what happened last week,but...

That's like the people that rooted agains the ND players when Willingham was coaching.

No. I will NOT hope for a smaller stage.

And as far as $$'s concerned, the difference wouldn't be much because on top of the Gator payout, they'd get $1 million from the BCS as opposed to $4 in BCS money.

Give me the BCS bowl baby! I think OSU or Michigan are the only teams I would have my faith tested against. I have watched enough of these games to not be at all scared of Texas or Florida.

Texas is barely scraping by Nebraska and Texas Tech. They are not a dominant team. If Nebraska can hang points on them, I know ND can.

Florida doesn't scare me either. The most penalized team in Div 1A. As far as their DOMINATING defense, the ONLY decent offense they have faced was UT. And UT put 20 on them. Auburn has a below average offense. Georgia has a terrible offense. Alabama is even worse. Then of course they ha offensive juggernauts UCF, Southern Miss and Kentucky.

Winning the Gator bowl will get ND as much respect as losing a BCS bowl game, which is to say none. Give me the grand stage and the hope that the Irish can pull off a big one. Greatness courts failure.

I'm starting to think that even if we beat USC and finish 11-1, we still won't go to a BCS bowl. Too bad we couldn't have lost by 20+ to OSU instead of to UM. Then maybe we'd be ranked #4.

How dare you suggest on this board that ND could hang with the almighty gators and the bestest darned defense ever. The only real response to the thought of the powerful urbies is cowering in fear.

After all, we are ND and we should hope to face Minnessota or somebody similar in a bowl game.
