I'm starting to get really mad about this now. There is no reason why Notre Dame should not have moved up in the polls, and there is certainly no explanation for why they stayed at #11! Why would they be jumped by a Cal team that didn't even play? Notre Dame played amazingly at Navy and are somehow punished for that? This is two weeks in row now, and it is really starting to get annoying. I hope Charlie gets mad during one of his press conferences....

i get the feeling that they stuck it to CW because of his comments earlier last week about the rankings.

Weis is learning to be a head coach in CFB... He ruined any chance for a NC with his comments about the polls. O well... I still love the guy and win at USC and we are in another BCS game. O well...i

This is just absolute BULLSHIT! I HATE the poll people. they lack common sense in every form. What does Notre Dame have to do to move up for god sake? Maybe they need to win by 70 points or something, but at least we didnt fall? and please explain how cal moved ahead of us on a bye week??? This is just FU_KING bullshit people. Im really starting to get pissed off about this.

Something tells me CW will never learn to be a head coach in CF if it means he has to dance for the AP voters. I think he'll take the "just don't lose any games and screw 'em approach.

Now, I think it is a VERY obvious jab at CW from the AP voters. The problem for them is, the AP ranking doesn't mean anything. As far as the Coaches poll goes, I am not surprised ND didn't move up. UT, UF or Auburn are going to have to flat out lose in order to move down. Close calls mean nothing for SEC teams like they do for everyone else. The whole country seems to believe the SEC should be a division in the NFL. I'm not buying it. Their teams are NO BETTER than ANY other conference. They just have more teams that are similar in talent and ability. Florida is the best of the bunch. UT is going to lose at least 1 more game, if not 2. They still have Georgia AND Arkansas. Auburn is a joke. They have NO OFFENSE. They have scored like 2 offensive touchdowns in 3 games or something. Their defense is good, but they are squeeking by teams like Ole Miss and South Carolina. They beat UF because of turnovers. Arkansas didn't turn the ball over and look what happened there. Auburn won't even play in the SEC championship. It will be UF v Arkansas. What happens if Arkansas wins?

I'm not sure who else they have on their schedule, but UT already beat Georgia. Not that Georgia is really all that impressive. I agree, Auburn really isn't impressing anyone.

BTW, didn't Tuberville complain about the polls this year. I guess he warrants special treatment.

If Arkansas wins the SEC, they WILL jump us in the polls. I would put money on it.

The media clearly has it out for Weis now because of his comments. Cal passing us on a bye week is all the proof you need. Its not like we struggled against Navy, we beat them easily. When do you ever see this happen? Doesn't make sense, I think many of the voters are just trying to get a rise out of Weis now.

I tell you what, if Arkansas wins out and wins the SEC, I don't have a problem with them jumping ND. It's this UT, UF, Auburn crap that is killing me.

They can try to get whatever rise they want out of CW, as long as ND goes 11-1 and some of these other teams HAVE to lose by default of playing each other, they will have to bite the bullet and rank ND correctly.

I think Tuberville complained about the BCS, which has nothing to do with the AP poll.

Regardless, I don't even care about what poll ranking we are because none of it matters if we don't win out. We just need to win and everything will take care of itself. We are 9th in the BCS and we will definitely move up if we finish the season 11-1. There is no reason to be getting upset about this as long as we take care of business.

Remember too, a top 8 finish is a guarantee, but ND is still eligible with a top 14 finish for an at-large bid. Even if ND goes 11-1 and the voters just try to screw ND and keep them out of the top 8, one of the bowls will still select an 11-1 Notre Dame team. In the end, it's all about money. And as Vince Vaughn in Swingers would say, ND is "so money".

Once again the anti-Notre dame media and coaches sticking it to ND. I was at the Navy game and BQ was nothing but on the money.

As at sat at the game yesterday we all sat there and ranted on how ND needed to run the score up some more all because of the way ND is being treated in the polls. But then when you watch the Irish go over with the Mids and pay respect to the Brigade of Midshipmen at the end of the game, it dawns on you why CW did'nt: RESPECT.

Now if the pollsters could show some respect!

Hey everyone! I can get y'all a great Internet shipping deal on cheese to go along with your WHINE!

C'mon guys... Notre Dame's signature win this year was against a good-but-not-great Georgia Tech team, and we got absolutely SPANKED by Michigan. And you're whining because the voters didn't reward a big win over Navy? NAVY? We were SUPPOSED to win big over Navy!

Cal's performance thus far is actually quite comparable to ND's. They have a big blowout loss to Tennessee, and their signature win was against good-but-not-great Oregon. And while Cal is above us in the AP poll, it's by a measly 3 points. 3 POINTS. We're practically TIED.

Face it. A big win over Navy was never going to impress anyone, and neither will big wins over North Carolina, Air Force or Army. We had a golden opportunity to impress the voters with a signature win over Michigan, and we blew it. But we still have one more chance: USC.

Now, if we destroy USC and STILL don't get some AP-love, hey, I'll be screamin' as loud as the rest of you. But COME ON! From the whining here, you'd think we'd beaten Navy 84-0 and got dropped to #24 or something. Get some perspective, people!

Geez...

I think peoples biggest bitch is this, we get penalized for close games against teams we were expected to beat easily, but other programs don't. Like Auburn struggling with Ole Miss. Fla against a very average Georgia team, Texas with a average Texas Tech team. Look how far ND dropped after a loss to a very good Michigan team and then compare that to USC losing to a average Oregon St team. That is what people are bitching about. The double standard that comes with being ND.

as much as i don't believe in the "anti-nd media bias", nd got jobbed this week in the polls. USC should be below ND, at least. And Auburn and perhaps Florida should have dropped a bit.

By the way, my friend pointed this out to me. But Texas is actually fairly comparable to ND. Got blown out by #1 OSU, has beaten OK and Nebraska, both good but not great teams, and had a close game against Texas Tech. Other than that, somewhat weak schedule. Sort of similar to ND's situation.
