She was smokin' when Hollywood didn't show much skin. She didn't have to.

When Kathleen Turner met Bacall after making "Body Heat" she introduced herself saying, "Hi, I'm the new you."

Bacall was voted the 20th Top Female Star by the American Film Institute ifor the first 100 years of film making. She's in pretty good company.

What that listing even more impressive is that more than a dozen years of her career was on Broadway where she won two Tony's. A star on both coasts.

Broadway will dim "The Lights" Friday night in tribute to Bacall.

TCM will honor her film career on Sept 15th with 24 of Bacall films starting at 8 pm.

Excellent actress, beautiful woman. Her passing is being over-shadowed by Robin William's suicide.

Very few accolades from the Hollywood elite, but I guess that's to be expected. She hasn't been in movies in a very long time, but how soon the word forgets.
