I disagree on all three of those. Greg Olsen could be the first tight end picked in this years draft. Chris Olsen at least had the opportunity to play at UVA, whereas he would not have at ND. And Booker will still be an NFL draft pick.

the olsen boys i agree with you punishment, but one of the top rb's n the nation and you pick fsu? unless you are a big dillard's shopper that just doesn't make sense. I think he would have been much better off attending any other school including ND.

It's hard to say because you have to look for guys who didn't find success at the school they ended up at.. often-times it's a matter of finding a guy who just got buried in the depth chart---not necessarily because they weren't good, but because there were so many other talented players that they never had a chance.

So, with that in mind---and I'm guessing here, I'd say Brandon Harrison could end up fitting the bill.

But then there are guys at ND who could have done better at a different school. There are two such examples between Jimmy Clausen, Demetrius Jones, and Zach Frazer.. you can't expect all three to start.

At the time, FSU was not a bad place for a RB to be. Nobody could see the cluster#### that Jeff Bowden was about to create with that offense.

The wrong decision for who?

Seems that if they made the decision, they thought it was right for themselves.

You don't think Ron Powlus hasn't wondered "what if?" a couple times in his life?

Greg will probably be the first TE drafted this upcoming year and if he had stayed at ND this would have been his first year to start after sitting behind Fasano.

Chris would have always been behind Brady here at ND so at least he went somewhere and became a part time starter.

Booker while his is the most questionable, he never really fit in with the overall sense of ND and was a much better fit somewhere else. He will still be drafted and probably have a decent NFL career, I don't think he would have furthered himself anymore at ND.

Why is not picking ND the "wrong" decision? ND is not for everybody. Olsen is a great tight end playing in a bad system. His brother is just not that good. Booker just didn't pan out. The same could have happened to him at ND.

... had two broken bones, had a porous OLine, had two talented WRs, had 4 QB coaches and 4 Offensive Coordinator, none of them worth a damn, yet he set most of the ND All-Time Passing Records and it took Charlie Weis to break them.

i think under weis Greg Olsen would have played a lot along side fasano and i think his draft status would be even higher. Friends of mine went to high school with the olsens and they both said that Greg is a great kid so its hard to imagine how he's fitting in with the miami team. When they celebrate after the fight you can see him kind of sheepishly leave the crowd after minimal celebration.

Booker probably would have played a lot more here, probably would have been better off football wise. I'd like to think we'd put up at least a 100 yards rushing against Troy.

i guess chris made the right decision to transfer to UVA. It's on par academically, closer to home, but i hope he didn't really expect to ever be "the guy" anywhere.
