The problem is though, that even if the 2 worst offenders get kicked off the team, another team will be willing to pick them up. It might be I-AA, but everyone thinks they can turn these kids around. And the chance to improve their program and make a little extra money is too tempting. I don't think they should be prevented from earning a college degree, but allowing them to play again still lets them know it's OK to act that way. I understand that a lot of these kids are only there for a ticket to the NFL, so if that is taken away from them, maybe in the future we can slow down the occurences of this nature.

I'm AZIrish and I approve this message.

OK, I'm off my soapbox. Continue with your regularly scheduled posting.

Miami should get the "Death Penalty" for this, this has got out of hand. If I was the player that got hit with the helmet I would press charges, if I go out on the street and hit someone over the head with a helmet with intent to harm I get a lot more then a "one game suspension". If it was up to me I would forfit the rest of the season and dismiss every player involved in the brawl directly. I would also let Coker go and question on whether or not the school would field a team the next year.

This incident should shock no one...and if it does...they need a mental health check. To be honest, I have defended Coker many times... This is the straw that breaks the camel's back for me.

Adrian MacPherson's cousin played with my alma mater. After his FSU debacle, he wanted to come and play football for us at the I-AA level in Illinois.

We politely declined.

By the same token, Taurean Charles was kicked off of Florida's team and out of school for getting into a fight at a party off campus. Messed someone up pretty good.

Bethune Cookman took him with open arms.

Miami Hurricane Football is the only college athletic program in America that takes the image of being thugs and nutures it, encourages it and embraces it. The university and athletic department are a complete joke, their fans are trash and most of the players they bring in either go to the NFL or do nothing. Tell me where these guys go if they don't make it in The League.

They are a disgrace, they have been a disgrace for 30 years and it won't get any better.

Another example.....

I hope I'm remembering correctly, but didn't we have Randy Moss to begin with, but he got into some trouble in HS and we said no thank you. Then FSU picked him up, only to see him get into more trouble and end up at (I believe I-AA at the time) Marshall? He turned it around a little in the NFL, but don't we all grow up eventually.
