Pretty favorable schedule to make a run at the national title:

Sept. 6 - San Diego State
Sept. 13 - Michigan
Sept. 20 - at Michigan State
Sept. 27 - Purdue
Oct. 4 - Stanford
Oct. 11 - at North Carolina
Oct. 18 - Open Date
Oct. 25 - at Washington
Nov. 1 - Pittsburgh
Nov. 8 - at Boston College
Nov. 15 - at Navy (Baltimore)
Nov. 22 - Syracuse
Nov. 29 - at USC

I really like our chances!

I'd say it's on par with this years schedule.... with a little more talent in the stable I'd say it looks good

Pretty favorable schedule to make a run at the national title:

Based on what evidence. Most of the players that will make up the 2008 team haven't played any meaningful minutes or in some cases even arrived on campus.

And who knows how good those opponents will be by then.

Way to early to even guess what 2008 will bring.

i can see 2007 being a rebuilding year, but '08? 4 of the first 6 games at home. CW's recruits should be firmly in place by '08. I am not saying ND will win it, but this is a pretty decent schedule and ND should be one of the favs in '08.

I like having SDSU first. Next year we'll get a softer Georgia Tech in the first week, but with our team being so young, it'll be really, really tough. With a freshman under center, it's important to build confidence, so it sucks that SDSU won't come until his sophomore year... but better late than never---we'll get a good start for his sophomore campaign.

by no means is it a WV schedule, there are some tough games there, (mich, BC, USC), but it is a nice schedule to have to make a realistic run at the championship. It will be a good 2nd year for most of the people on the team, I still believe '09 is our greatest shot, but I like our chances in '08.

The odd thing is that it's not like ND is scheduling weaker teams (with the exception of the 12th added game), it's just that the traditional powers aren't as strong.

Why do we have Syracuse and Washington on the schedule again??? I want them and North Carolina off the schedule for good.

I personally like the Washington game, I think that it could be a very interesting game to watch...I actually like the entire schedule. The think that the schedule has a nice blend of traditional powers and teams on the rise (or rebuilding)...somewhat like what ND would be doing at that time.

The team that scares me the most, besides usc and michigan, is Pitt. They are very well coached and are going to be a factor again in college football.
