Why? Based on what? There is an RB from Akron and QB from Ball State on that list. Sam Young was an HS Army All American.

Why should he not be...everytime he comes into the game, and its not just garbage minutes, the opposing team knows the only play he is going to run is the QB draw and he still picks up 10, 15, 20 yards everytime. If that is not an impact for a freshman QB in the SEC I don't know what is.

I guess I don't feel a BACKUP QB averaging 23 yard passing and 38 yards rushing per game should be included in the freshman IMPACT list where there are tons of freshmen making greater impacts on their respective clubs.

Congrats to Sam. He has EARNED this honor. I am so impressed at how he has stepped up and played so well for a guy so young and inexperienced (at the college level that is).

they must be going off of last weeks game alone for Tebow. Other than that, its been percy harvin and chris leak for florida in my opinion.

As of right now, I don't think there's a freshman that has had a bigger impact in all of college football, for his team, other than maybe Chris Wells of OSU or Percy Harvin of Florida, than Sam Young.
He's a good one and he'll be a great one.

Here's the thing, though: Urban Meyer uses Tebow in a VERY unusual manner. You often see Tebow out there in 3rd-and-short situations because he's a better rusher than Leak, so the defense has to watch out for one more rusher. But Urban also likes to toss Tebow out there in very random situations that don't seem to make any sense... sometimes just for a play or two, sometimes for a series of plays mid-drive with Leak finishing it off, once in a rare-while for an entire drive. And he's done it in every game thus far, no matter how big or small the lead is, so it's not just garbage time.

It all seems to be part of Urban Meyer's evil plot to run the strangest, most unconventional, most flat-out-CRAZY offensive plan in the history of college football. It's a bit like how Charlie likes to swap in Travis Thomas for Darius Walker for a change of pace, except that Urban does it with his QBs instead and does so in a manner that completely eschews all logical or strategic sense. And yet he's undefeated this year, so who am I to criticize?

Long-story-short, you can't just look at Tebow's stats. His impact is far larger than the mere numbers suggest.

I thought Tebow added a LOT of emotion, yards, and tenacity to the game today. He def looks like a gamer...at one point, he plowed into 3 guys and came out of the pile. Now, do I think that warrants being in the top 15...don't know. All I know is the Gators' fans are calling for Tebow to get more and more snaps even though they already have a QB in the Heisman running already.
