I have never heard of such a thing!

You've never heard of bye weeks in high school football??? Last time i checked i thought every team gets at least one bye week. I kno when I played H.S. football, there was always a week off.

Where did you play high school football at....here in Indiana at least for the past 15 or so years there has been no such thing as a bye week.

Seriously, that's totally lame.

We don't have bye weeks in Illinois, but I'm sure it is something they'll eventually implement because the IHSA are a bunch of dopes.

Lame.

I played high school football in New Jersey. There have even been times where teams have had 2 bye weeks. For example, Justin Trattou plays for Don Bosco, a perrennial powerhouse in NJ, they have two bye weeks this season.,

I guess that lets them make doubly sure to be playing during the good weather season in New Jersey.

I have never heard of such things...that is rediculous and makes me think a lot less of these other teams and other states...it would be a lot easier if you had two weeks off.

I don't know where Warren Central's coach came from, but I heard on the radio that it was a top notch program, and he said that this team could compete with anyone in the nation. Don't doubt us Indiana boys fellas.

I can verify what Jigga means. No bye weeks in IHSA football, and I did not know other states had bye weeks. I can understand for Thanksgiving, but come on! Play on!

It will be tough for them to beat Hoover High School, I've seen them play and they are pretty tough

Actually you got that switched up....WC's former coach who is now out in Oklahoma made these comments about his former team, and how he believed they would stack up nationally.

The Indiana state championship game is always the weekend of Thanksgiving so Indiana boys don't even get that off.

Illinois plays 1A-4A the Friday after Thanksgiving, 5A-8A on Saturday.

Pretty soon we'll have about 12 classes so everyone can win a state title and feel good about themselves.

Our high school athletics in this state is getting to be like little league: everyone gets a trophy at the end of the year for participation. They're going to be giving out state championships in every sport like candy on Halloween.

"Well, it's 9 PM. Here, just take the rest of what's in the bowl. Trick or treat."

Yep your right. Warren's coach got a sweet deal to go to that new school.
