I am not saying fire Weis...that is just stupid talk, but what I will say is that Weis really dropped the ball this game...he's a man and we will realize this and acknowledge it was his fault and hopefully correct it.

I think a lot was learned today.

1. Our defense is as bad as it was last year, maybe even worse. At least last years D could stuff the run. This D can't stop the run or the pass.

Wanted: A defensive tackle that can get off a block and penetrate. I keep hearing about how quick these guys are but I don't see it. I see them engage the oppossing guard and at best stay put but usually get pushed back.

Abi can make a play, the others are slightly more resistant than blocking sleds.

I'm not big on bashing players but ND's D line is disappointing. And on top of that they never stunt or twist or anything.

And Lambert...OK so he got beat on a double move once, it happens but twice WTF. I could understand if he was this ball hawking pick off machine that gambled but he isn't. He got beat like rented mule.

One thing I will say and I'm sure I'll be criticized for is this...... I was pissed off at Jeff Samardzija today. It wasn't because he didn't have an impact, but because he appeared to have a bad attitude, particularly on the sidelines when Quinn was trying to talk to him; I think he walked away.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love the guy---I wore his jersey in the 1st quarter, until our luck ran out---but I'm beginning to wonder how committed he is.

Watching him run routes in the 3rd quarter it looked to me like he had packed it in. Maybe Getty was on to something with his previous thread.

Just want to clarify on my post. I am NOT jumping on the bash Weis bandwagon. We got spanked. It was ugly. I've been Notre Dame football for 31 years, 2 months, and 28 days. We can still make a great season out of this. Look at OSU. The played Cincinatti? WTF?? Our schedule is NOT easy. This loss will give us the focus we need. MSU had better watch out!

i'm very disappointed today. The loss didn't really suprise me..I think Michigan was underrated by everyone. What really disappointed me was the WAY we were manhandled.

If the Irish are going to get back on the winning track they are going to have to come up with a way to protect Brady better. OSU,Georgia Tech and Michigan all brought pressure and disrupted the passing game. All that pressure caused a lot of bad passes today.
I am concerned the way the LB's are getting blown off the ball....we are really getting manhandled up front. If we want get back to the upper echelon, we better get physical

the fans are partly responsible for this--
Thisperformace been clearly evident for the last year, but some of the fans are sooo ovlivious to football that they think we are otherworldy. While we made alot of mistakes today, we got beat by a MUCH better team. Their qb knows how to throw floaters, he's accurate over 20 yards, and he has worse receivers. The shark looked amazing last year because he is, and he HAD to make heoric catches because they were often not near him. Brady would be such a better quarterback if he didn't buy all this hype that alot of people have created for him. If people said "Brady can't throw a long ball", he would get better at it, because that's his mentality. He hears no other critisism except his coaches, and that's NOT enough - WEIS is not enough.

- end of random ramblings

Did you see him not even make an attempt at tackling the UM player that had the last interception? Ran right by him and he never made a move towards him. I love the guy (and my oldest son idolizes him) but that pissed me off.

I mentioned that in the game thread....on running plays late in the game he just didn't even try to block and acted like he didn't care. He is a good WR but not great and for him to do that makes me lose a lot of respect for him. Brady Quinn made him last year and no one knew about him or game planned for him so he was drawing the lesser match up all year...now hes got a target on his back and a superstar attitude and that just doesn't fit on this team.

did Quinn make him or did he make Quinn? Could go either way, he made some outf'nstanding catches last year and took quite a few short passes for long gains, him and stovall. I am not jumping off Quinn's bandwagon or his, it was one really, really ugly loss. There are 10 more games left, so plenty of time to bounce back. Like I have said earlier though, CW and the staff have better get this team's shit together after that beatdown.

Interesting observations. This is going to hurt his NFL stock if these allegations are true. That shouting match with Quinn had better be patched, because they showed that on national TV. Frustration is one thing, but you can NEVER turn on your teammates.

I saw shark get mad for the FIRST time today, he's MY favorate player on this team, because he actually is REALLLLLLY good. He's pissed off because he is CONSTATLY overthrown. If the ball just got to him he'd make the play, no matter the coverage. It really looks like he cares about this team more than anyone. I've never seen him celebrate as an individual, it's either flashing the shamrock, or congradulating the team.

I dont understand how you all DONT understand how good the shark is. He has great field awareness, runs GREAT routes, has glue for hands and is just amazing.

What he celebrates more then anyone else on the team...always flipping the ball and taunting opposing DB's. We need a stuck up attitude like his on our team but yelling at your QB that just isn't going to get it done.

He's definitely been overthrown alot this season...I'm not arguing that. The observation I made that you completely ignored was that he let the Michigan player who got the turnover, run right by him with no attempt at a tackle. That's alot of crap and I was surprised he did it. That's not thinking of the team first.

you sure you're watching the same guy?

I don't think that's been the question at all

I am not happy about the game either. I guess I have already gone through the 3 phases of denial, anger, and now acceptance that ND is not the best team in the land. 27 points are not far from 30 off but 5 turnovers led to the wide margin...not poor play. Poor play is what caused Willingham to lose his job. I guess 5 turnovers can be called poor play but oh well. I'm disappointed with the "nastiness" of the football team this year. Does anyone feel that Weis may have gone soft?

I don't think that Weis has gone soft...I think the team is learning what "hunger" means. I am not sure they have yet.

By the way, those 5 turnovers cost us 24 points. Thats a game changer.

I think a lot was learned today.

1. Our defense is as bad as it was last year, maybe even worse. At least last years D could stuff the run. This D can't stop the run or the pass.

2. BQ is not Heisman material nor 1st overall pick in the coming draft

3. This team is not a legit contender.

4. Our offense isn't all powerful like we thought. The trend continues of our offense tanking against good defensive teams (Michigan and OSU last year, GT and Michigan this year)

5. Despite Weis being a good coach, he has a lot to prove before he can be called "elite". We've been manhandled twice in 4 games, that doesn't often happen to the "the greats".

And before I proclaim that the world is coming to an end, know that I still think our programi s moving in the right direction. We need to get 2 or 3 consecutive top 10 recruiting classes filled with 5 star recruits before we can truly expect to hang wiht the big boys. But we definitely moving in the right direction.

1) That's bull shit. They gave up 340 yards total. TOTAL. The Offense turned the ball over 4 times...and Special Teams once If you want to point a finger...there's the target...OFFENSE.

2) Agreed.

3) Agreed.

4) Agreed.

5) Agreed.

Oh my God...OK guys pay attention cause from this moment forward I will never admit this again...I completely agree with Victors...there I said it ( spit spit spit) Brady has been so inconsistent its not funny...lets be honest shark should never have a side line war of words...but he was acting out of frustration...you shouldn't have to make a circus catch every dam time...Quinn might be all day tuff but he's also all day inconsistent...don't like him...take a look back at the willy days...he would make a horrible throw then make whinny ass faces at his team mates like it was always their fault...he hasn't been doing that lately (since CW came on board) but he still throws like crap...its either too high too low behind or wayyyyyy to hard...
