I see that the Kickoff luncheon is sold out (strong rumors that Jerome Bettis will be the special guest)

Also, the KofC smoker Friday night is shaping up nicely....recently got this email:

Again this year the Knights of Columbus, Council #553, will be holding our ND Smokers at Sacred Heart Parish Center (free parking off of Douglas Road), on the campus of the University of Notre Dame, every Friday evening (when there is a home game), right after the pep rally - look for our story in Rich Wolfe's new book "For Notre Dame Fans Only - The New Saturday Bible".

It may be called a Smoker but no smoking is allowed and it is truly a family event. Our speakers for the ND vs. Penn St. game will be several members from the '49 National Championship Team and ND Alumni & world famous author Rich Wolfe. Admission is $5.00 (Children under 12 are free) -- food and drink will be on sale to include brats (with sauerkraut, green peppers & onions for topping), hotdogs, popcorn, beer, wine, pop & Guinness (Irish beer). Limited seating available. Reserve seating available - contact me, Steve Filbert at sfilbert@ameritech.net or 574-274-3055.

Wonder who it might be from the '49 team? Can't be a whole lot of those guys still kicking around, eh?

Hopefully I can get a couple of seats since my son and I will be staying at Sacred Heart for Penn State weekend. This kid has no idea how lucky he is to have a ND nut for a father :)

That would be an awesome experience. If you go, make sure to take pictures and I'll post them on the site!
