Band of the Fighting Irish...

As the 2006 Irish football team runs onto Georgia Tech's field for the season opener, an element almost as synonymous with Notre Dame football as Knute Rockne will be missing - the Band of the Fighting Irish.

The band will take only one roadtrip this season, as opposed to its typical two away appearances. Tight budgeting and scheduling issues forced the band to choose Michigan State on Sept. 23 as its only away game visit, according to Larry Dwyer, assistant director of bands.

The band traditionally travels to away games in buses to defray costs. While in the past buses have taken the band as far as Tennessee and Florida State, Dwyer said this year the band chose to save money by traveling only a state away.I feel bad for ND fans who have never set foot on campus and dont get a chance to see our band when they are lucky enough to obtain tickets to attend an away game.I guess its time to start passing the plate. GO IRISH!!!!

the band played by the gug while the team got onto the buses. they played the victory march as the buses pulled away. it was pretty cool.

I love my Notre Dame...when this animal thats trying to take my strength attacks I put on video's of the campus and listen to this music and I can beat it down...

The Victory March is a rousing tune but Here Come The Irish hits a different set of emotions.
