Funny tho, they're POed AT ND. Curious, as the game is NOT being broadcast on the Notre Dame Broadcasting Company (aka NBC). At any rate, their team, fans, etc. are talking A LOT of smack.

As one great TV star uttered, "I think your mouth's writing checks your body can't cash".

PS: who knew that Oregon Duck fans had migrated to Georgia!!! Big shoutout to RichDuck wherever you are!

I remember hearing the same crap last year ala Pitt. I mean give me a break. This Tech team isn't even on the same stratosphere as ND.

Actually, after watching (and loving) that intro, I'd be a bit peeved if I were a Tech fan. It's like they aren't playing in the game at all. It's kind of funny, though, to look at through Irish eyes.

NBC only does ND's home games, then ABC, ESPN and sometimes CBS do the other games. GT's tradition???!!! Didn't know they had one. But I agree with you scooper, can't blame them for being a little peaved, but like they say, "don't hate the playa, hate the game." Took ND a long ass time to build its reputation and history, maybe in about 50 years GT will have a tradition like ND.

Fellas, I agree with you mostly (and the Tech fans can all kiss my ass), but they do have some traditions. In fact, there are seven statues of their most famous coach sitting in our trophy room at ND.

They're NOT in the game at all - or rather they wouldn't be in the game at all if they weren't playing ND. Scheduling ND is a ticket for them to get on national prime time TV when they otherwise wouldn't. They should shut up and enjoy it. Also, they won't be in the game at all on the scoreboard. So what's the beef? This is a whiny team.

ummm...they do realize they are GT right???...they have to face the music, GT doesnt sell tv ratings, ND does. the fact that millions upon millions of people are going to tune in has nothing to do with GT, but more so with ND....do they realize that if there opener was against vanderbilt, they wouldnt get a tenth of what they are getting cause we are there

I hear what everybody's been saying, but like scooper, I have to sympathize with GT a little bit. After all, as a Minn. Twins fan, I have to put up with the Yankee hoopla. I'm certainly not apologetic for not liking the Yankees, and it's not just a matter of sour grapes. So while the money teams will get more spotlight, I don't think it is says much to crow about our team simply for that fact. Personally, I just appreciate being able to see just about every ND game on TV. That's enough for me--I don't have to rub it in GT's face.

it's not rubbing it in there face, GT simply isnt marketable to the general population. Maybe down south people care, but I will put money on the fact that more people in Washington state for example care about ND more that GT. Its not a snub by any means, its simply marketing the team that will get more ratings

Actually, I do feel a bit for Georgia Tech for a couple of reasons. They are always in the shadow of UGA. I lived in Atlanta for two years and during football season my impression was the the Atlanta paper covered Georgia more extensively than Georgia Tech and Tech is in Atlanta. The same is true here in Savannah. In this state, when football is concerned, Georgia gets first billing, then Tech. There are of course many reasons for that. Second, and I have a number of theories on this, many Tech fans seem to actually like ND. UGA fans usually do not have much good to say about ND.

Ultimately and ironically, however, if ND gets more press, whether real or perceived, is the exact reason teams schedule us. Exposure and $$$$$$.

I don't feel sorry for GT, just like I don't feel sorry for the Twins. If you want more coverage than the Yankees, win as much as they have. You want more coverage than ND, win as much as they have. You'll notice that when a USC or somebody plays ND, the coverage is equal. Should Air Force complain that their traditions are being snubbed too?
