Colin asked about agents. CW said ND gives no advice but makes sure the kids know the reputation (my word) of agents.

CW said GT dynamic on both O and D. Look for different D looks to limit Calvin Johnson effectiveness. Made it pretty clear a good pass rush will be big on gettin' the job done.

Biggest change this year in realtion to BQ will be more freedom to audible. Not Peyton Manning freedom, but more freedom to change the play if it's not a good one. CW said last year BQ had one play for a particular situation to audible to. This year he call what he thinks is THE best play. I love that!

Colin asked CW how it felt to be the smartest man in the world! Charlie laughed and deflected the remark. Colin told Charlie he thought football coaches had replaced baseball managers as the smartest coaches in sports. I agree and I bet Charlie does to.

CW also said the hype machine is not ignored at ND. You must address it and I get the feeling he welcomes it.

Great interview. Charlie oozes confidence. The swagger is back big time!

I think it all just hit me today that we're only a couple days away from the begining of the first season I can remember actually believing ND has a chance at a title. Like seriously, I didn't start following hardcore until the end of the Holtz era, and there were no seasons under Ty or Davie that I had such delusions of grandeur as this year.

Even if they don't win it all, its just nice to know there's (finally) a coach/recruiter in place that will give me the feeling its possible more years than not.

So yeah, can't wait for Saturday.

Well yeah, I definately think Weis will win a title (or 4) at some point during his career, I just meant it more as even if they don't do it this year.

I am a little sick of hearing how "overrated" ND is this year though. I know they have some big holes this year, especially on defense, but I just don't see the highly-rated team this season that doesn't have a few huge holes to fill. I mean OSU lost their entire defense, Texas & USC lost their entire offenses, PSU lost their QB, etc.

Well, I guess we'll get a feel for it on Saturday.

Aero, et al. EMBRACE the hate. If they're hatin' on us more, that means that we're not irrelevant anymore (and CW put that word to rest last year). It's like we're Rip Van Winkle and have woke up from a decade long dream, or bad nightmare and find that things have returned to normalcy, or even BETTER, as we have a loaded and dynamic offense (vs. the smashmouth of Lou). The only part that's lacking is the D, but they should be vastly improved (and 'faster') this year. By year's end, what are Ms. May, Col. Saunders, Corso and Co. going to have to hold against us? NOTHING. They'll be eating crow and Jason Whitlock will love it, as he'll get to eat something.

I caught most of the interview then got called away to the "meeting". I got in a little trouble because I said I'd be a little late. My boss (for lack of a better term) said the meeting was very important. I replied "Nothing you say is more important than what Charlie has to say."
