Until we find out some of the targeted prospects of the Class of 2008. If you didn't know, September 1st is the first day official offers can be given to current high school juniors. I've got word that Notre Dame has a nice list of prospects that should be receiving offers including WR Michael Floyd of Minnesota and LB Steve Filer of Illinois, among others.

Q. Coach, you talked about keeping the players busy on Saturday mornings. How does the routine change for a night game versus an afternoon game?

COACH WEIS: Well, one of things that happens is I send out seven coaches recruiting on Thursday as soon as practice is over. See, you can go on the road recruiting for six days during the season. One of our days will be this Friday, so I send seven guys out right after practice on Thursday. We don't meet offensively and defensively on Friday night. We meet as a special teams with the whole team and then I'll take the quarterbacks.
Anyone want to speculate on who is going to get the in person offers?

The shallowest position on the team, linebacker, gets the first invite. The Filer's get the knock on the door first.

I'm going to guess that AJ Green, WR from South Carolina, will get an offer. However, it will be hard to pull him away from the team he grew up rooting for, UGA.

I don't know if AJ Green gets a visit though. I guarantee he'll get an offer, but I think sending a coach my be a wasted visit. I mean, he is said to be a silent verbal to Georgia already.

A couple that I believe get visits include Steve Filer, Michael Floyd, Will Hill, Kenny Tate and possibly the kids at St. Xavier and Posluszny.

I hope you're right about the X guys. We need more Cincinnati guys. (starting with Ben Martin) I was thrilled to land Kallen Wade last year.

St. X right now, along with Colerain, is the class of SW Ohio. Or really, the entire state.

Jonas Gray, RB from Michigan, may be a guy that gets a quick offer. Apparently he likes the Irish the most right now and he had an ENORMOUS game this past week. Supposed to be one of the better RB's in the country next year.

Yes, I'd like three kids off that St. X team including Ashley, Craig and Schneider. The Class of 2008 talent in Ohio is going to be significant.

I think they focus more on the Defense in 2008 with the weapons on offense from the 06 and 07 class the urgency is not really there, sure you want to get the top guys but i think the D is more important. Depending on what transpires this year i can see them going after some DT really quick and aggressivly.
