I just finished up my HDTV install through Comcast. Hopefully watching ND in HDTV will be as good as I have been daydreaming!! I've got a 42" Mitsubishi. Please tell me I did the right thing!

What time should I be over, and would you like me to bring anything?

No doubt is it better and man is it worth it, I have a 40 inch Sony Bravia LCD and football in HD is beyond words. Been watching every preseason NFL game just to watch it in HD

Haaaaaaaaaa..........how funny. Just picked up a 42" Phillips Tues. and put the call into Comcast this morn to switch to HD. All for one reason.......ND football. Did you have to use a "HDTV" box/converter from Comcast Svo? I'm confused on the whole deal so far.............and I've got "buyer's remorse" like you wouldn't believe.

I have seen it on HDTV once.

Your money was well spent.

"The boss" and I talked it over. I am going to pass on it this year since my company is going through layoffs. (and you just never know)

But next year, I will be getting one...no doubt.

42 inch Phillips and Comcast HD when I got my new place four months ago.

Worth every penny.

McGowan, I had buyer's remorse before I even picked the thing out.

It's the best. I've been watching for a few years now in HD (a few games here and there). I think all the home games were in HD last year as well. I have a Toshiba 56" widescreen CRT. The next tv I wanna buy is a 60' to 65" DLP 1080P set, but I'll wait till early 2009...that's when all cable channels will be converted to digital from analog and the prices will come down a considerable amount.

Well, I've had the HD-Ready TV for the last year and a half but my dumb ass never inquired to Comcast about the HDTV options. It was $5/month, so I had to do it.

We're so starved for football, even reading about your TV plans helps pass the time. Thank you for not pm'ing.

Hey SVO

Hey SVO

Absolutely!!.....Heres another idea for you. DVR the games and purchase a DVR recorder( a good one at Best Buy will run you about $400}then get some DVDR's and you're all set.You will have to use 2 DVDR's for each game so the quality on your recording is as good as the HDTV broadcast. After you transfer your recording to disc dont forget to delete the game on your DVR{takes up about 20-25% of space on the DVR'S harddrive.....ENJOY and as always GO IRISH!!!!

Just watched a portion of the Carolina/Miami preseason game. I can't believe I was "watching" football on a regular TV. There is just no freaking comparison. The color, the clarity... man, traditional TV is what it must feel like playing for Michigan.

Make sure the DVD recorder has component inputs otherwise you'll most likely have to drop the res down to 480i for the DVR to output video from the s-video or composite outputs. At least that's the way it is on my DirecTV HD Tivo receiver. Had me puzzled for a while why I couldn't record anything from my receiver.

Trust me watching Notre Dame in HD is totally awesome. I have been watching for a year and it is money well spent. I just wish they would not go to comericial so I could just look at the stadium through HD.

Go Irish

The great part about rich kids from eastern asian countries with no concept of American money is their ability to drop 2 grand on a tv with out flinching.... i.e. our hallway's common room has a 50" to enjoy the irish in hd this upcoming season. oh college... how I love thee
