How do we look at TE?

We lost a good one to the NFL. Do we have anyone returning with significant touches?

Great.
Carlson, Freeman, Reuland, Yeatman, Mullen and Ragone on the way.
There's the next Dave Casper in there somewhere.

who is better on paper ragone or konrad

WOW that is a tough one tommy boy... they are actually very similiar... they both are more of a recieving TE(and great ones) that need to put on some lbs to block effectively at this level.. Both were/are rate 1/2 or at worst 3 by all the services at their position but I guess rueland was rated higher overall last year.

Konrad is going to be the best out of all of them I think. Carlson is going to be good this year and Freeman, too. I think they will be ok.

Mullen plays DT.

• A second helping—It's tough enough learning one side of the ball. Try two playbooks. That's what Paddy Mullen has been doing for the last week. After working exclusively at defensive tackle when camp opened, Weis told Mullen to get some work at tight end as well.

"Coach Weis told me I have to know both sides of the ball," Mullen smiled. "I need to know tight end and I need to know the technique that comes along with defensive tackle."

Mullen has taken a philosophical approach to his double duty.

"It's a blessing to be able to do something like that at Notre Dame," Mullen said.

I see I miss some vital information when I don't subscribe to II. Thanks for the update.

I thought I read he's getting reps on both sides of the ball.
I could be wrong. I'll check.

In one of the recent press conferences Charlie said he would be getting double duty working at DT but also working as a TE on the Scout team.

Who's a better judge of ability Rivals or Scout? Is there much of a difference if a guy is rated in the Top 5 coming out of HS? Both are talented receivers and will improve their blocking skills to become complete TEs

Reuland's has only been playing football for a couple of years. It's frequently noted that he hasn't touched his potential.

Before his injury Ragone had WR speed, good WR speed. He's working on rehab and time will tell how he's recovered. If he maintains that speed, ND will probably have its quickest receiving corps (add Prince out of the backfield) in history.

Yeah, his HS coach said in one of his games last year he caught a pass and pulled away from Antwine Perez, 5/4 star USC DB commit last year. Hopefully he recovers nicely from his surgery.
