Watched Sun Night NFL on NBC last night and saw a preview for the upcoming season. My heart dropped and I felt like throwing up. What a great feeling.

I'm ready for it to be here. Illinois High School Football starts on Friday night and after seeing my uncle's squad scrimmage in Pittsburgh this past Saturday, I'm all but ready.

Those damn White Sox have been making my life miserable, too, so this is perfect timing.

I am so desperate for college football I may even watch the South Carolina vs Miss State game thursday night, which is bad for me because the mere sight of the assh**e head coach of South Carolina (I can't say/type his name) makes me want to kick the TV in. I would even watch the BC vs Central Michigan game, it doesn't matter at this point, I just want college ball on.

I'll watch the Miami OH Northwestern game. Remember, NU's coach, Randy Walker, passed suddenly in the offseason. Walker was a Miami grad and former coach. What was once going to be a homecoming of sorts will now be a very emotional tribute game on both sides.

I have been invited up to that game, but Oxford's a long haul for a Thursday night, with work the next day and two small children at home.

HBO must know its close to football season as well. Seems like everytime I flip thru they are showing "Rudy" I flipped it on last night and ended up staying up late to finish it.

Yeah, it was so sad. I will be watching it as well. I hope NU bounces back and has a good season.

I hope they do too. But I still hope Miami OH beats them.

By the way, MU is a nice setting for a college football Saturday. Though not big time, I'd highly recommend it. It's a beautiful campus, a nice stadium and while the weather's still warm, the scenery rivals many of the better southern venues if you know what I mean.

I went to Earlham college just up the road from Miami (OH). You are right its a really nice campus.

My grandparents went there as well...funny enough my granddad knew Ara when he was there... My granddad took a nickel out of his kid's nose right before some football game (granddad is a doctor)
