similar to the Matt Leinart thing last year so i dont think it will really have any affect on the program

It's nothing, they didn't get paid or get any endorsements. They take audio bytes from some of the student athlete's and have used them on the show in the past. It's local to South Bend, not a international show like ESPN. Comparing Leinart's ESPN plugs to this is like comparing Apples and Oranges. Actually, this has been going on for years.

I don't think a thing will come of it.

Local or international it's still a promotion. A woman one month pregnant may not show as much as an apple but one 9 months pregnant can look like she swallowed a basketball. Different degrees of development but they're both pregnant.

I don't think anything comes of it either. But it was prudent of ND to check with Compliance and I wouldn't expect to see ND athletes doing it in the future. Err on the side of caution.

I agree, ND should error on the side of caution and instruct their players not to do any more "bumps". However, I disagree w/you on the pregnant analogy. I think if a player accepts $500.00 dollars (i.e. Troy Smith @ tOSU) or a $500,000 million (i.e. Reggie Bush) there is a difference.

That is true but what they both did violated NCAA rules and they should have been punished much more then they actually were.

I think the producers of these shows are morons. They need to look into NCAA regulations before they approach anyone. It's their responsibility, too.
