Man, this kid must really be impressing Coach. Weis sounded very adamant about Young when asked how he was doing and why he was running with the 1st unit.

There was something to this effect in the Sunday Sun Times as well.

Many freshmen will get minutes, he being one of those.

He'll be starting by the end of September, if not sooner.

This can only work in our favor with recruits. We will play TRUE Freshman in big time games...they will start. That can only look good.

Weis will play Freshman if they deserve it, Look at Asaph Schwapp last year, the man should be a beast this year and hes only a Soph!

But yes I hope the recruits do take notice and I think they will...the one's lookin for early play time anyways.

All I have seen is that Mattes has won the RT job, and that Young will be the primary backup.

Also that Young is getting time with the 1st team only because Harris is out, but the position is his when he returns.

Don't get me wrong I've heard great things about Young but only that he will be a effective backup and will push the seniors

FI9, You have to watch the Weis press conference at und.com under multimedia. Everyday there is a practice report with a post pratice press conference.

Personally I'm rooting for Mattes. He's from my old hometown.
