My picks:

1. Bob Jones University (definitely not D-1, but it doesn't matter..they might not even have a team.. what the hell, make one)
2. Oregon State
3. Fredo (okay, so we get them in '07, but I want them in '06)

I also have 3 teams, hard to say just one, but I would love for us to get;

1. Oregon, just to shut them up from last year, even though they flopped in their bowl game.
2. Oklahoma, see how we stack up against a fairly tough and fast Defense, think OU's D is a helluva lot tougher than USC's.
3. Florida State, for obvious reasons!

Miami -- for obvious reasons

Florida -- to show everyone Charlie Weis is the right guy for ND

and Illinois, because I don't even know when or even if we played them; and they are a neighbor in need of publicity

Oregon St. There is no reason for that program to hold any bregging rights over us.

Florida. The connection is obvious.

Cincinnati-at Paul Brown Stadium. That would be fun.

hard to pick just one, but Ohio State is a team I wouldn't mind playing every year because I hate them so much. If Michigan ever dropped us it would make total sense to schedule OSU regularly, but supposedly they're scared to schedule ND every year because of the large amounts of Catholics in the state, they don't want to split the fan base in Ohio.

Texas because we need a presence in that football rich state.

Florida because I'd love to see a Weis vs Meyer game.

Living in Nebraska I would have to say the Huskers.. You don't know how often I have to hear about how they turned the stadium red when they came to South Bend. Also hearing on a daily basis how overrated ND is by the local radio guys here gets really old.. I would love nothing more to see the irish drop 50 on the skers..

Great question...gets me thinking...

1) Oregon (they have a great coach and are good people...and I live in Oregon so I could see the Irish visit)
2) Texas (it's been 12 years or so)
3) Oregon State (so we could thump the crap out of them and shut those yahoos up...OSU fans are a-holes)
4) Indiana (nice EASY in-state game)
5) Minnesota (variety reasons only)

Yup, I was in the crowd at ND Stadium for the Texas game. That was a great day.

I want Fredo this year as well! those bastards...I would want to hang 70 on them

I'd be real careful what you wish for.

Lou faked a punt in 92 with a huge lead and the next year they rolled the ND defense right out of an Orange Bowl vs. Nebraska for the National Championship.

In this order,
Wisconsin: (in Wis. tough place to play, fans are amazing, would be very colorful in the stands and mainly I wouldn't have to make a 4 hour drive to South Bend just head west for an hour and 45 min)
F$U: (in Jax)
Florida: (just to run the score up on Urban Myth and have Charlie show him that he really isn't a good coach)

Texas or Texas A&M. I think it would be very beneficial for Notre Dame to play down here for the recruiting home front.

1) Northwestern or Illinois - Either team, or rotate every other year and play the game at Soldier Field. This would allow for all schools involved to be put on the bigger stage and continue the building of the Chicago recruiting pipeline.

2) Indiana - While I know we've got a long standing rivalry game with Purdue, I would also like to see that game rotated with in-state Indiana. I'd also like to see a game against Indiana played in Indianapolis.

3) LSU - Louisiana is a football state first, second and third. I'd love to play them at a "neutral site" such as the Superdome in New Orleans. There is a TON of talent down in Louisiana to be had!

Any chance this one gets played at the RCA Dome?

For recruiting's sake:
1) LSU
2) Texas A&M
3) Florida

For the schedule's sake:
1) Indiana (drop Purdue)
2) Wisconsin (drop Michigan St.)
3) Alabama (drop Shula like a nickel)

Well, by the time it got scheduled, it could possibly play in the new Lucas Oil Stadium which would be an amazing venue for a college football game.

It's very important that ND have a strong presence in Texas. Had we played a school like Texas Tech, maybe Andre Jones gives ND a stronger look. But I don't think it necessarily has to be Texas, it could be TT, TAM, or even Houston or Baylor. (I'm not one of those fans who feels ND needs to play the teams ranked #1-12 each year.)

LSU v ND at the Superdome (reopening this Sept): book it!

There is a ton of talent down here, and a LOT of it goes to Catholic high schools.
